2w ago - Sony Entertainment Network Senior Manager Greg Belloni of Corporate Communications announced news today of a major Music Unlimited application refresh now live on PlayStation 4!

To quote: We just launched a major refresh of the Music Unlimited application for PS4 that delivers better performance, easier navigation and improved music discovery. The updated app was redesigned based on your feedback, so we hope that you like what you see. Here are some of the highlights:

The new app opens to the Home Screen that highlights New Releases, New Playlists and New Channels.

A push of the Top Menu button (Square on the PS4  wireless controller (DUALSHOCK 4)), reveals a new left-hand side vertical navigation menu that provides easy access to features like Search, Charts, Playlists, Channels, My Library, and Settings.

The new app also features an attractive new full screen music player and play queue so users will always know what song is playing and what tracks are coming up next.

A tap of the Options button reveals basic features such as Volume, Repeat, Shuffle, playlist options and artist and song details.

Give it a try and let us know what you think and keep an eye open for future updates!

Atlus Announces Abyss Odyssey PS3 is Out Today on PlayStation 3

50°
2w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Abyss Odyssey PS3 is officially out today on PlayStation 3 with details below.

To quote: ACE Team and ATLUS are back again with the procedurally generated adventure game with fighting game elements (EVO shoutout!), available today on PlayStation Store.

The look of the game all draws from an incredible combination of Art Nouveau and Chilean folklore, which is where many of the awesome enemies come from.

Speaking of awesome enemies, most of them have full movesets - meaning that every time you face an enemy, your combat strategy might change. And you'll have to be mindful of that, since the three main characters, Katrien, Ghost Monk, and Pincoya, will have to earn their skills through combat.

These skills can only be changed at certain points in the procedurally created abyss, so there's plenty of strategy to work around.

Another strategy, and a personal favorite of mine, is capturing the souls of fallen enemies. Assuming your experience level is high enough (it doesn't reset if you die), you can use your ultra attack to capture the very soul of the enemy and then use it to take their form in combat.

Which actually is a viable strategy at higher experience levels, since it essentially provides you with...

New Sony PlayStation and PSN Game Releases for July 15, 2014

50°
2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation and PSN game releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

Guardians, zombies, and anime pirates - just another week in the PlayStation universe, friends.

First, prepare for one of the most anticipated gaming events of the year - the Destiny beta begins first on PlayStation. Pre-ordering Destiny secures any prospective Guardian a spot in the beta. Free humanity from the clutches of darkness and fight using the light of the Traveler.

Crimsonland storms onto PS4 this week as well, bringing with it an old-school philosophy and hordes of enemies. As the quintessential "Trooper guy," blast waves of aliens, giant spiders, zombies, and other unsavory fellows with a delightful assortment of 30 weapons.

Crimsonland packs a 60-mission campaign with three difficulty settings, survival-based modes, and also some glorious local co-op. What started as a student project is now ready to make a splatter splash on PS4.

And for those One Piece fans out there, the recently released One Piece Unlimited World Red arrives on PS Vita this week. Join the Straw Hat Crew and face new threats across an episodic storyline. Beat down the bad guys, play mini-games, and sail for the New World!

Video: VizionEck on PS4: First PlayStation 4 Gameplay Revealed

200°
2w ago - Founder and Lead Developer Michael Armbrust shared a fresh PS4 gameplay video today spotlighting VizionEck on PlayStation 4 below.

To quote: I'm Michael Armbrust, the creator of VizionEck: a first-person shooter unlike any other. I've hinted aspects of the game, but now it's time to wipe away the mystery. I'm here today to reveal all and premiere the gameplay video.

VizionEck is a competitive first-person shooter, but its core mechanics have been rebuilt from the ground up. Spawning is different, weapons are different, cover is different, etc. This new and innovative gameplay is centered around VizionEck's art-style.

These cubes and mathematically exact outlines provide incredibly deep and competitive mechanics. Every situation can be approached in multiple ways, with no inherently bad choices.

Destroying enemies and surviving is generally good, but in VizionEck nothing is black and white. Even self-destruction has positive outcomes depending on the player's circumstances.

What you just witnessed was the beginning a 1V1V1V1 "Ranger VS Ranger" match. A detailed explanation of these mechanics and more can be found on [Register or Login to view links].
