1w ago - Valkyrie Entertainment President Joakim Wejdemar shared a video trailer today announcing Guns Up is coming to PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita platforms!

To quote: Greetings, Commander. Welcome to [Register or Login to view links], our free-to-play action strategy game for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita that puts you in the role of a General deploying units to the battlefield and working your way toward annihilating your enemy and destroying their base.

This is no walk in the park, though - you're going to need to manage your resources to ensure that you can send the right troops for the right job.

Snipers, heavy machine gunners, RPG carriers, armored vehicles, and even air strikes are there as part of your strategy, so choose wisely. You'll also use your resources to build and protect your base from other players' invasions.

Although GUNS UP! is our first full title, we're no stranger to the industry. We've spent the last decade providing high quality art work for other developers on titles such as inFAMOUS Second Son and League of Legends.

We're really excited to bring our vision of action and strategy together in a way...

Video: Bloodborne on PlayStation 4: New PS4 Combat Details

1w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa shared a video spotlighting new PS4 combat details on Bloodborne for PlayStation 4 below today.

To quote: Hello, PlayStation fans. This is Masaaki Yamagiwa from Japan Studio. I am pleased to present our brand new gameplay trailer and some new gameplay details about the PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne.

This week is the first public hands-on with Bloodborne at the Gamescom show in Germany, so we have lots to talk about. The three new themes From Software is pursuing with Bloodborne are: fear and exploring the unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and new and unique online experiences.

A big part of the fun is exploring a mysterious new world. The creepy and sometimes horrific gothic world of Bloodborne will be brought to life on the PS4 in amazing detail through the beautiful yet somber architecture; attention to detail in the environment; gorgeous lighting from the light of the moon, lanterns and fires burning in the street; and a trusty torch to light your way through dark and dangerous spaces.

Exploring the unknown can be a harrowing experience, especially in a game like Bloodborne where death and madness can be lurking around every corner.

At E3 we introduced players the city of Yharnam,...

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - The Power of Claptrap Detailed

50°
1w ago - Gearbox Software Content Editor Andrew Goldfarb shared details today on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - The Power of Claptrap for PlayStation 3 below.

To quote: Since we announced [Register or Login to view links], there's one question we've gotten more than any other: what is Claptrap's action skill? Up until now we haven't said much, but today we're happy to reveal that it's as weird as you might have hoped.

Claptrap's action skill is named VaultHunter.exe, and when he uses it he's granted one of several random abilities for a short time.

If you're lucky and Claptrap's programming is working properly, you might get a brief opportunity to use a version of another Vault Hunter's skill, like becoming a Gunzerker (In Claptrap's case, Funzerking!) or a Mechromancer (You'll love your new fire rate!).

If you're less lucky, you might be stuck bouncing up and down uncontrollably or launching a torrent of grenades that will obliterate friend and foe alike.

Beyond that, depending on the skill tree you choose, Claptrap may also gain the ability to cycle between subroutines that increase his efficiency with different types of guns, health regeneration,...

Fantasy RPG Runemaster Makes Console Debut on PlayStation 4

50°
1w ago - EPOS Game Studios CEO Olof Gustafsson announced today that Fantasy RPG Runemaster is making its console debut on PlayStation 4.

Below are the details, to quote: Some pretty exciting news coming out of Gamescom this week! We at Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studios are bringing our upcoming role-playing game Runemaster to PS4.

There are a lot of 'firsts' to note here. This is the first role-playing game developed entirely by Paradox Development Studio, a group best known for its deep historical strategy games, like Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV.

It's also the first time that a Paradox developed title will be designed with both PCs and a current generation console in mind. Paradox Interactive has already announced that Magicka 2 will be coming to PS4, so 2015 will be an exciting year for Paradox and Sony.

What is Runemaster? As befits a Swedish developer, Runemaster is a fantasy role-playing game set in the exciting and darkly tragic world of Norse myth.

Drawing on Viking sagas and the Eddas of Viking bards, Runemaster tosses the player into the chaotic worlds of legend - Midgard, Jotunheim, Niflheim, and so on - as the universe threatens to come to an end. Ragnarok could be coming and the player can choose to prevent this world-smashing...

Surgeon Simulator is Out Now on PlayStation 4, Gets Co-op Play

50°
1w ago - Sony Community Manager Poppy Byron announced today that Surgeon Simulator is out now on PlayStation 4 and includes co-op play!

To quote: January 28, 2013. That was the day we put the first build of a silly little game jam project onto the Internet for anyone to play.

It was a run of the mill game jam project for me, and my fellow teammates, James Broadley, Jack Good and Luke Williams. But the aftermath saw our little medical-themed toy turn into a real grown-up full game.

The development process of [Register or Login to view links] has been like a constant game jam. We would implement our ideas without a second thought to the game's overall design.

Leaving little details like balancing damage levels and timings until later, just concentrating on what we thought would be cool or fun for the majority of time. For example, once the game was in full production, one of the features I remember implementing first was the notepad in the reception that you can draw on, not exactly essential for the game but fun to make.

This kind of unplanned structureless attitude has continued throughout the entire project. It's an extremely fun way of developing. It has its caveats and wouldn't...
