Video: Closure Hits PSN Next Spring, Playable at PAX 2011

173w ago - Eyebrow Interactive Lead Designer & Programmer Tyler Glaiel has shared a Closure video trailer today, confirming that it will hit PSN next Spring and be playable at PAX 2011 for fans.

To quote: We are very proud to announce that our game [Register or Login to view links] will be coming to the the PlayStation Network next spring!

For those who haven't been following our development these past few years, Closure is a unique and stylistic puzzle platformer that takes the concept of light and shadow and twists it up into something never before seen.

You see, in Closure's dark and foreboding universe, the only things that exist are what you can see. An object properly lit up is physically there, yet an object shrouded in darkness ceases to be.

Your character can take advantage of this by manipulating lights to effectively change the shape of the world you're in. Wanna jump through a wall? Well you can, as long as it's in darkness.

Some of you might be wondering, "Wait, haven't I played this game before?" You may have. Closure began life as a small and simple web game posted online at the end of 2009.

The game was successful enough that we decided to take the unique concept of...

Video: Starhawk Space Battles at PAX 2011, MLG and More

50°
173w ago - SCEA Senior Producer Harvard Bonin shared some video footage showcasing Starhawk Space Battles at PAX 2011, MLG and more today.

To quote: It has been a wild and crazy few months since we announced in May. E3, Comic-Con, Gamescom... and now PAX and MLG!

It has really been an incredibly exciting time for us and we truly appreciate all of your support. We announced the title back on May 5th at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX, and it's been a sweet ride ever since!

It's easy for us to tell everyone how cool the game is, but we think it's much more believable if it comes from the fans directly. So, I've included a video from some of our great fans at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago right after they got to play the game. Here's what they had to say!

Next up is [Register or Login to view links] in Seattle this weekend, August 26th - 28th. We'll be on hand to show off our new space station level, the same environment we showed Gamescom last week....but it damn well deserves an encore.

You'll be able to play with the jet packs and prox mines all in the friendly confines of space so come by the show floor and check us out! I'll be there running the observer cam and will also be giving...

Video: Retro / Grade at PAX 2011 and PSN Gameplay Trailer

100°
175w ago - 24 Caret Games Co-founder Matt Gilgenbach has shared some Retro / Grade PAX 2011 details alongside a PSN gameplay trailer today.

To quote: We've been hard at work making a must-have PS3 downloadable game for PSN.

If you're like me and you can barely remember your own name, let me refresh your memory about [Register or Login to view links].

Retro/Grade is an innovative fusion between a rhythm game and a sidescrolling shooter that has received the IndieCade audience award as well as two Independent Game Festival nominations.

The game begins when you have just singlehandedly fended off an alien invasion, but all the destruction damaged the space/time continuum, which caused the flow of time itself to reverse. What would have been the final boss is actually the beginning of your backwards journey.

Since time is going in reverse, you must undo your actions in the space skirmish to protect the health of the space time continuum. This means you have to dodge enemy projectiles returning to the enemies that fired them while un-firing your projectiles as they return to your ship. It is easier than it sounds since everything is timed to the beat of the original retro game inspired soundtrack.

PAX Encounters: Hoard Multiplayer Dissected in New Videos

100°
223w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared some new video footage today from PAX 2010 of Hoard Multiplayer for PS3 and PSP.

To quote: After a successful showing of Hoard's multiplayer modes at PAX, developer [Register or Login to view links] wanted to share two new videos today showing off a full match in both the cooperative and competitive models.

Watch them in HD, if possible, so you can get a good look at the details that make up Hoard.

So far, so good. But playing Hoard reveals subtleties that are easy to miss at a glance. The surrounding kingdom for instance, is teeming with details: tiny wagons carrying grain from the mill to town, carriages shuttling princesses from building to building, and stealthy thieves scrambling around your treasure pile.

What's more, the surrounding kingdom continually evolves around you, with defensive structures such as Wizard Towers that erect in response to your destruction. In fact, it pays to allow the kingdom to grow and thrive before swooping in to collect your ill-gotten gains.

Hoard is packed with play modes, including Treasure (collect as much gold as possible in single-player or co-op), Princess Rush (a competitive mode...
