Video: VizionEck on PS4: First PlayStation 4 Gameplay Revealed

200°
15w ago - Founder and Lead Developer Michael Armbrust shared a fresh PS4 gameplay video today spotlighting VizionEck on PlayStation 4 below.

To quote: I'm Michael Armbrust, the creator of VizionEck: a first-person shooter unlike any other. I've hinted aspects of the game, but now it's time to wipe away the mystery. I'm here today to reveal all and premiere the gameplay video.

VizionEck is a competitive first-person shooter, but its core mechanics have been rebuilt from the ground up. Spawning is different, weapons are different, cover is different, etc. This new and innovative gameplay is centered around VizionEck's art-style.

These cubes and mathematically exact outlines provide incredibly deep and competitive mechanics. Every situation can be approached in multiple ways, with no inherently bad choices.

Destroying enemies and surviving is generally good, but in VizionEck nothing is black and white. Even self-destruction has positive outcomes depending on the player's circumstances.

What you just witnessed was the beginning a 1V1V1V1 "Ranger VS Ranger" match. A detailed explanation of these mechanics and more can be found on [Register or Login to view links].

Bringing Killzone Shadow Fall Heroine Echo to Life - PS4 Interview

50°
17w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared a PS4 interview today on bringing the Killzone Shadow Fall Heroine Echo to life below.

To quote: One of the most pleasant surprises of E3 week earlier this month was bumping into Jamie Gray Hyder in the halls. Killzone fans should find that name familiar - she played one of Shadow Fall's stand-out characters: half-Vektan/half-Helghast intelligence operative Echo.

With co-op expansion Intercept out this week on PS4, we took the opportunity to sit down for a quick chat with the actress (who you might also recognize from her time on True Blood, as werewolf Danielle) and Game Director Steven ter Heide.

How did you first get involved with Killzone Shadow Fall?

Jamie Gray Hyder: I auditioned like I would for film or TV. I did my scene knowing I needed to focus on physicality - they called me back and it turned out we were on the same page about what Echo was going to be, so we got to work.

Steven ter Heide: The filming was out in LA and the director we hooked up with said, "We've had this amazing performance. Unfortunately she's under the weather but she really wants the part and we think she's perfect."

The character is strong - she has to stand up to the protagonist, but at the same time needs...

To quote: We're happy to announce that Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept is available from PlayStation Store today in North America!

In this action-packed, online co-op expansion for Killzone Shadow Fall, you and three of your friends must try to establish a secure uplink to VSA headquarters from behind enemy lines while fending off an army of Helghast soldiers. To complete your mission, the four of you will have to rely on solid teamwork and make the most of your unique combat roles.

We've worked hard to make sure that Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept is fun and easy to get into, but difficult to master. With four different combat roles to learn, four brand-new arena maps to explore, three powerful enemy bosses to defeat, and an endless supply of Helghast soldiers to overcome, this expansion will present a formidable challenge to even the most grizzled multiplayer veteran.

Thankfully, you'll be able to unlock powerful bonus abilities such as jetpacks and mortar strikes to temporarily help even the odds.

Video: New Trailer and Details for Everybody's Gone to the Rapture

100°
19w ago - Composer and Co-Director Jessica Curry posted up a new PS4 trailer video and details for Everybody's Gone to the Rapture from E3 2014 today!

To quote: For the last twelve months, we've had our heads down working hard on Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and it's really exciting to be able to share some more information with you as well as a new trailer:

If you already know The Chinese Room, you'll know that we make story-driven games. Creating a rich, deep world with strong drama and exceptional production values is key to what we're all about.

Rapture is set in a remote valley in June 1984 and is a story about people and how they live with each other. But it's also about the end of the world.

Rapture is inspired by the fiction of John Wyndham, J. G. Ballard, John Christopher and other authors who deal with ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. There's a very particular English feel that we wanted to capture in the game, a combination of the epic and the intimate.

Rapture also came from our obsession with post-apocalyptic gaming, and the simple idea that whilst we normally play as the hero, in reality, most of us would be the piles of ash and bone littering the game world. That's...
