Video: Runner2 on PSN: Who Says You Can't Buy Friends

40w ago - Gaijin Games Associate Producer Dant Rambo shared a Runner2 PSN video today dubbed Who Says You Can't Buy Friends with details below, as follows:

After the launch of Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, many of our fans asked us if we had any sort of plans for DLC. As you can imagine, we were thrilled to see that people wanted the game's experience to extend beyond when the final credits rolled. Quite honestly, it's one of the best compliments a developer can receive.

While brainstorming possible ideas for extra content, we came up with the idea of releasing a pack of characters plucked from other video games. It was a neat enough concept, but the success of it depended upon the awesomeness of the characters we ended up including in the bundle.

This required a lot of brainstorming on our end – including some crazy ideas we had that didn't quite work out – but in the end we feel as though we assembled the most amazing crew of characters to ever grace a single video game. We might be biased in our saying so, however.

In any case, the DLC in question is known as the Good Friends Character Pack, and it introduces Raz (Psychonauts), Quote (Cave Story), Josef (Machinarium), Dr. Fetus (Super Meat Boy), Spelunky Guy (Spelunky), and Invisible CommanderVideo...

This will help PS Vita owners discover the latest indie games, and as you can see in the video above, there are a wide variety of games available today as well as many that will hit the store soon.

Kicking off the category is the launch of Hotline Miami, now available on PS Vita and PlayStation 3. Video: How to Shmup: Mamorukun Curse from the Makers of Ikaruga

50°
43w ago - UFO Interactive Games Producer Andrew Wang posted up a video today on how to Shmup: Mamorukun Curse from the makers of Ikaruga below.

To quote: Mamorukun Curse! was originally developed by G.rev, the co-developers with Treasure Co. Ltd. on games such as Ikaruga and Gradius V.

The rush I got when I first started to understand the ammo-absorbing mechanic in Ikaruga was nothing short of exhilarating, as I'm sure many of you experienced the same!

A great shmup (shoot-em-up) will usually have one or two defining mechanics that makes it stand up way above the rest. For Mamorukun Curse!, that mechanic is the Curse Bullet.

The Curse Bullet is the key to surviving the game's toughest fights, but can also be the double-edged sword that causes the player's downfall. Specifically, the "Curse Bullet" will make a Cursed zone that weakens enemies' defenses but at the same time boosting their shooting pattern.

When defeated, a Cursed enemy gives off the highest amount of candy, Mamorukun Curse!'s collectible items for score, than when defeated normally.
