I am truly excited that it's finally available and you can all play it now. Today, I want to talk about the different characters in The Saboteur.
Because the game is very story driven, it was extremely important to us to have a good solid cast of characters for Sean to interact with along the way while trying to get revenge on Dierker (if you're confused by what all that means, see my previous posts).
Our mantra for creating our cast of characters was "everyone has a problem." This was important because it meant we had to create back stories for all the characters to give them grounding and purpose in the world of The Saboteur. While we have a lot of different characters in the game, there are some really key players you should know about.
Jules - Jules is one of the most important characters in the game because his death is the ultimate motivating factor for Sean's romp across occupied France killing Nazis. It was a big risk to take to count on delivering Jules as a character. We hope the player likes him so...
209w ago - Team RamRod's Brandon Akiaten has announced that new High Velocity Bowling characters and Ball Packs are slated to hit PSN this week. A video is below, and to quote:
Happy Holidays Bowling fans! 2009 is almost over and we wanted to close the year out with a PAINful Xmas! That's right... Jarvis and Ginger are coming to High Velocity Bowling.
These are both available this Thursday 12/10 for just $0.99 each, and they each come with a new customized bowling lane and bowling ball! If that wasn't enough we also have two new ball packs coming your way also for $0.99 each!
For those late bloomers who haven't played the game yet, now's the perfect time to try it out. It uses the SIXAXIS motion sensors so you hold the controller and swing your arm like you're throwing the ball.
With 4-player local play and 2-player online, it's great fun for family and friends, and can be had for only $9.99 on PSN. In addition to the eight quirky, unique characters included in the base game, there are a bunch of other downloadable characters and ball packs available via in-game commerce or the PlayStation Store as well, on top of Jarvis and Ginger coming this week.
Here's the breakdown of the goodies coming this Thursday:
225w ago - Here is a new White Knight Chronicles 'Characters' trailer for PS3 from GamesCom earlier today.
The video's caption simply reads: This band of friends is ready to fight for what's right.
Some background details on the title, as follows: White Knight Chronicles, like most other console RPGs, is presented in third-person perspective.
The player can freely choose which character to control. Like any other RPG, the characters gain experience points and level up, becoming stronger over the course of the game.
Level-5 conceives White Knight Chronicles as having 100 hours of gameplay, a length Akihiro Hino considers to be a full length RPG, going against the pressure to make White Knight Chronicles a launch title and cutting the story short.
226w ago - GameStop has reportedly revealed two more characters in "Zigo the Fisherman" and "Blanche the Actress," available "exclusively" through pre-order of the game via in-store ads.
These characters were previously announced and are the first two characters from the multiplayer portion of the game that 2K has revealed.
To quote: Koku Gamer spotted the images on the 2K's BioShock 2 forum from Rocco, where astute forum-goers point out that the images of the two characters look a lot like recently released BioShock 2 Mulitplayer Gamerpics #2 content on Xbox Live.
As the game's release has been pushed back to the "first half" of 2010, we're waiting to hear more before running out to the store and dropping five Earth dollars, thank you very much.
