First Screenshot of Friends List Crossover from PS3 to PS4 Arrives

50°
38w ago - Today a screenshot has surfaced showing the Friends List crossover from PS3 to PS4, which depicts a user playing Killzone: Shadow Fall on PlayStation 4, seen on friends list on the PlayStation 3.

To quote: "Someone recently leaked a screenshot showing what is the first ever PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 crossover.

As you can see in the above image, this is the first case of a PS4/PS3 crossover. If you do not understand what's going on in the picture allow me to explain. If you have a PlayStation Vita, then you know that you can see what everyone on your friends list is playing. The only difference is that PS3 users can't see what PlayStation Vita users are playing... yet.

This looks to NOT be the case with the PlayStation 4, because as you can clearly see, this XMB shot was taken from a PS3. It's only a matter of time until the PS4 arrives and this screenshot is only building my anticiption more and more."

To quote from his blog: Another application update, bringing PS3 Game List to v2.3. The main highlight is the support for PSARC archive extraction. The feature was lingering over the request list for a long time, and it is finally implemented. Users can retire other extracting apps from their library, as PS3GL extracts data even faster than Sony’s official implementation!

Also, there is a new trophy tab, for those interested in learning all about the selected game’s challenges (trophy ID, type, name, detail, hidden status and avatar). Trophy information will be loaded according to the language selected by the user, and can be extracted as well.

Additionally, Linux and MacOS ports for v2.3 are...

48w ago - Community Developer Zack Cooper shared a video today which takes a a high-level Look at Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3 below.

To quote: Even though it's been such a long road to where we're at right now, it's still hard to believe that Splinter Cell Blacklist will be launching in just over a week!

We understand that more eyes are on us now than ever before - but that doesn't mean they've seen everything we've already put out there.

This video is a solid wrapper, giving you a high-level look at the entire scope of the game: the extensive Single-player campaign, the 14 unique CO-OP missions, and Spies vs. Mercs.

Oh, and it's also narrated by Charlie Cole, the man behind Sam Fisher's gadgets.

Anyway, I won't take up any more of your time. Right now, at least. Once you get your hands on Blacklist, we should take up plenty. Enjoy the video!

Video: Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3: Three Ways to Play Detailed

50°
50w ago - Community Developer Zack Cooper shared a video today detailing three ways to play Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3 for fans below.

To quote: As you can see in the video below, we've got three very distinct playstyles in Splinter Cell Blacklist. The Ghost is someone who likes to get in and out of a mission, leaving absolutely no trace of their presence.

You can either avoid contact with the enemy altogether (undisturbed hostiles give you the greatest challenge and reward), or knock them out. There are plenty of gadgets tailor-made for Ghosts; the proximity shocker is one of my favorites, especially when I feel like messing around with the AI.

I'll lay down mines, fire off a sticky cam for reconnaissance and/or distraction (you can play sounds from the sticky cam to serve as a decoy), and then lure the baddies into my playground.

There's something completely satisfying about knocking out a terrorist, leaving his body out in the open, then watching one of his buddies take notice and race over to investigate... only to get zapped. I'll clean up my mess after that, and hide those guys in the comfort of the darkness.

The Ghost is always non-lethal, though. That's imperative to the playstyle. If you want to use your karambit (the Indonesian knife that Sam uses in Blacklist),...
