45w ago - Double Fine Productions Senior Designer JP LeBreton has shared a video today inviting fans to venture into The Cave, which is out today on PlayStation Network!
To quote: Greetings! The team here at Double Fine Productions is pleased to announce that The Cave, our latest game led by legendary adventure game designer Ron Gilbert, comes out today on PSN.
In The Cave, you'll choose three characters - from a possible seven - to descend into the depths of an ancient and mysterious cave, each of them in search of something they desire above all else.
This is no ordinary ancient and mysterious cave, however: The Cave happens to be alive, watching their every move, narrating their stories, doling out wisdom and mockery in equal measure. What could his true motive possibly be? He's not telling. "Mysterious" just means "not telling".
Depending on which characters you choose, you'll puzzle your way through a Victorian mansion, a museum from the far future, a desert island, a nuclear missile silo, and much more... all buried deep within The Cave. See? We're being mysterious too!
We've designed the puzzles such that one player can solve them...
49w ago - Following up on our previous update, today myself (Daveyshamble501) and Markus95 have released the Resident Evil Paintown Final Alpha for PS3 3.55 / 4.XX CFW alongside some videos of it in action below.
Hello everyone and Merry X-Mas to all, a short while back you may remember this little mod I made for paintown, well since then i'd been in contact with fellow modder Markus95 and he said we could make something amazing if we worked together, so we put our heads together and came up with this arcade quality...
51w ago - Following up on our previous update, today I-Friqiya Executive Producer Skander Djerbi has shared a new video confirming that Fuel Overdose roars into action on PSN next week!
To quote: This is Skander Djerbi, executive producer of the half-Japanese, half-gaijin indie production Fuel Overdose for PlayStation 3 on PSN. The game launches on 21st December, and a demo is available right now.
Our previous post focused on the racing gameplay pillar. Today we will talk about the 'action' aspect of the game, introducing all the cool gameplay mechanics that you can use against your opponents to attack, defend and counter-attack. Have a look in the new trailer below.
Let's start with the upgradable weapons.
• A machine gun that can be fired at 360 degrees when combined with the skidding and spinning features.
• A rocket launcher that uses a homing system that skilled drivers can avoid by suddenly changing trajectory at the very last moment.
51w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton interviewed Monkey Island Creator Ron Gilbert today, who descends into The Cave with details below!
From the interview, to quote: If, like me, you grew up in the late '80s and early '90s it's likely that Ron Gilbert is responsible for many of your formative gaming experiences.
While at LucasArts he was responsible for a red-hot run of bona fide adventure game classics, including Maniac Mansion, Zak McKraken and the beloved Monkey Island series.
In January, he returns to the fray with The Cave, a delightful Sega-published 2D romp that, in true Maniac Mansion tradition, sees you picking three characters from a wildly diverse line-up of seven oddballs and descending into the titular caverns for all manner of puzzle-centric adventure.
From the brief section we've played, it's clear that Gilbert has lost none of his flair for fiendish puzzle design, barmy dialogue and madcap storytelling. It's shaping up to be a charming, challenging and wonderfully eccentric title that will both delight his core fans while being accessible enough to win plenty of new ones.
We caught up with the man himself when he was in London earlier this week to find out a little more about the project.
