Sony Announces Today Officially Begins Heavy Rain PS3 Week

231w ago - With Heavy Rain for PS3 launching globally this week, Sony's European Product Manager Alex Pavey has announced that today officially begins Heavy Rain week on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

Heavy Rain Receives a 226MB PlayStation 3 Patch Update

231w ago - Update: According to [Register or Login to view links], the Heavy Rain PS3 patch update is causing more technical issues for gamers although Sony is investigating.

To quote: "Many are [Register or Login to view links] about game crashes, audio skipping, save/loading problems, and some characters getting caught in furniture. Not all are complaining about the game, though.

For many, the game is running fine after the patch and they are enjoying the experience the game offers. Whether the problems are widespread or just a minor problem for some can't be determined, yet."

Heavy Rain was released just before the weekend on February 18, 2010 in Japan and has already received a 226MB PlayStation 3 patch update.

According to PS3Insider.de (linked above), prior to playing the game users will be prompted to download and install this PS3 patch file which reportedly fixes some lag issues.

To quote, roughly translated: "Add to Heavy Rain, a patch has been released. The patch has a size of 226 MB.

This struck us as we have once again brought the same test specimen. What changes...

I hope you're ready for lots of Heavy Rain content, because while we were at the big Launch Party in Paris this week we managed to secure a nice amount of interview and video content which should tide you over until well after the game comes out next week.

Heavy Rain Initially Had Motion Control Planned for PlayStation 3

232w ago - In a recent interview with Norwegian publication Dagbladet, creator David Cage stated that Heavy Rain initially had Motion Control planned for Sony's PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: "If you are talking about Motion Control, this is something we initially considered for Heavy Rain. The very first version of the game design was based on motion control, but it was not feasible at the time," he said.

Dagbladet later helped us confirm via one of Cage's reps that he had hoped to design the game for the PlayStation Motion Controller originally, but felt the tech simply wasn't far enough along.

Cage went on to add, "I have a lot of interest in Sony's motion device and there is a good chance that we announce something about it in the coming weeks."
 

Sony Reveals Heavy Rain PS3 Demo is Forecasted for Thursday

232w ago - For those who missed the hidden update, Sony's Product Marketing Manager Jefferson Dong has revealed that the Heavy Rain PS3 demo is officially forecasted for this Thursday on PSN.

To quote: While this might be true for the weather in some parts of the country this week, the game demo for Heavy Rain will be available worldwide through the PlayStation Store on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Mark this on your calendar!

This PlayStation 3 exclusive demo will feature two full chapters from the game, in which players will immerse themselves in the roles of Norman Jayden, a FBI profiler brought in to help local law enforcement find and capture the Origami Killer, and Scott Shelby, a private investigator hired by families of past victims to bring their killer to justice.

Gamers will finally get the chance to try this psychological thriller where players make choices that will determine their story, all in the hopes of uncovering the mystery of Heavy Rain.
