200w ago - Game Director Stig Asmussen has posted up the latest God of War III PS3 Vengeance - Chaos Will Rise trailer today on the PlayStation Blog!
To quote: Just wanted to tell everyone how excited we are at SCEA Santa Monica Studio to release this new trailer for God of War III.
Considering it has been almost a year since we have put out a new video, this is a really special time for us and we hope everyone enjoys it!
Just to give a little perspective on what we were going for with this trailer, we really wanted to sell the high action of the game and put together snippets of several of the big moments.
Everything is pulled straight from the game - there is no trickery, etc. Everything is running in "real time." There are no "cinematic" sequences here, meaning this is all gameplay.
Towards the end of the trailer we reveal some of the moments from our January media event. If you look closely you can see Kratos on the arm of Gaia fighting against the "Leviathan" water creature, giving a sneak peek of the scale in our game.
I am very proud of the work our team has done and how this trailer showcases it. The final game has a ton more that is not shown here...

These days, first-person shooters set in a warzone...
207w ago - Today Sony has confirmed their PS3 Q1 2010 lineup, which will feature Massive Action Game (MAG), Heavy Rain and God Of War III among others.
With these three AAA titles and other exclusives, including White Knight Chronicles and SEGA's Yakuza 3, it appears Q1 will prove to be an expensive time for most PlayStation 3 owners.
According to MCV UK, the 256-player PS3 shooter MAG will be released on January 29, 2009.
The highly anticipated Heavy Rain is due to arrive in February, with a specific date to be announced later, and God Of War III is currently scheduled for a release in mid-March.
Finally, White Knight Chronicles is also slated for launch in February alongside SEGA's Yakuza 3 in March. It's definitely going to be a busy new year for Sony, with Gran Turismo 5, ModNation Racers and of course Final Fantasy XIII all heading to the PlayStation 3!
268w ago - This man wants you to know his name. He is the face of Gears of War and its creator Epic Games and is clearly the most gregarious of the new breed of developers that are taking video gaming to the masses.
Call him Cliffy B, call him Dude Huge, or call him Mr. Bleszinski, he has something to say and he want you to hear it. So read on as we discuss everything from the secrets of great game design to the Gears of War movie, chat about the Xbox 720, the PS3, Gears of War 3, Marcus Fenix starring in a platform game and even discover what weapon he uses to pick up chicks!
Chris Stead: We've played the first Act of Gears of War 2 - everything is bigger, meaner and prettier. Does it all come down to the middleware?
Cliff Bleszinski: I think it comes down to having an extraordinary team. It is a combination of that and having the best tools in the business that enable our designers to rapidly prototype. Lee Perry, our senior gameplay designer, had a rough of the shield mauler boomer in like a day and he had the shield swinging around and he just passed that concept straight to the programmers and they just code it up.
So it is a combination of that and thinking quick on our feet and being well managed, as well as having what I believe are the best artists in entertainment....
293w ago - Eagle-eyed reader Byron has pointed us towards a job listing on SCEA's Web site, for an "Online Gameplay Programmer", who will "join the team behind the critically acclaimed AAA titles "God of War" and "God of War II."
Interesting, interesting. That doesn't say online programmer, it says online gameplay programmer.
If this is indeed for GoWIII, and not some other project, anyone for a Kratos v Kratos battle for loin-cloth supremacy? Or perhaps a Kratos & Kratos co-op skip-along?
