Realta Entertainment: BandFuse: Rock Legends Out Today on PS3

50°
45w ago - Realta Entertainment Game Director Jon Heiner announced that BandFuse: Rock Legends is out today on PS3.

To quote: BandFuse: Rock Legends takes everything that was great with plastic guitar games - addictive gameplay, the music you love, instant playability - and makes it work for real instruments on your PS3.

If you ever wanted to sing, play bass, or guitar, and wished all those hours of pressing red, red, green could translate into real music, look no further.

We're going to take an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the craft involved in-level design, challenge ramping, and song transcription. If you're already familiar with BandFuse, feel free to skip down to the exclusive bits. But first let's talk about a few of the core features behind BandFuse: Rock Legends.

The Legends

One of the many things that sets BandFuse: Rock Legends apart is the host of artists supporting and participating in the game. Slash, Bootsy Collins, and Zakk Wylde (among others) have lent their amazing skill and experience in the form of songs, interviews, instruction and more.

These artists are behind BandFuse: Rock Legends because it is the most authentic rock and roll experience you can have on consoles. Within the game, they entertain, guide, and instruct you...

XGen Studios Confirms Super Motherload is Out Today on PS4

50°
46w ago - XGen Studios CEO and Founder Skye Boyes confirmed that Super Motherload PS4 is officially out today on PlayStation 4.

To quote: With the launch of Super Motherload and PS4 today, we count ourselves lucky to be among the small number of indie games available at launch, helping to make good on Sony's promise to support innovation from small teams.

What we don't push in polygons, we hope to make up in truly social gameplay experiences that keep drawing you back. For the next puzzle, the next Special Upgrade, and of course your next grudge-match against pals.

One unique PS4 feature we didn't have space to mention in our last post is Super Motherload's use of the Activity Feed. As certain events unfold in Super Motherload, such as the untimely and permanent death of your hard-won upgraded character at the hands of fuel depletion in Hardcore mode, the activity feed will broadcast notification of your controller-hurtling rage to your friends on PSN. Other, more celebratory activity feed posts include the acquisition of Special Abilities and Character Unlocks.

There has also been quite a bit of interest in the soundtrack for Super Motherload since our last post. We're pleased to announce that we've decided to stream the entire soundtrack on YouTube for free (with digital download...

Video: Gran Turismo 6 Adds Legendary Bathurst Circuit for PS3

100°
52w ago - Sony Product Manager Ken Chan announced today alongside a video that Gran Turismo 6 is adding the legendary Bathurst Circuit for PS3.

To quote: Earlier this year, we officially announced the infamous training ground of GT Academy, Silverstone Circuit, will be available in GT6. Staying true to the global driving experience of GT, we are proud to announce the addition of the Bathurst Circuit (Australia).

Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit, Bathurst, to give it its full name, is the home of motorsport in Australia. Located in New South Wales, it has a rich motorsport history - the first race held there was the 1938 Australian Grand Prix and it now hosts the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Bathurst 1000 races amongst others.

The challenging circuit is 6.213km (4 miles) long with surprisingly steep inclines, a twisty, narrow section across the top of the mountain which proves difficult to master even for the very best racing drivers, and very little run off area to allow for mistakes.

For those unaware, anyone who pre-orders through GameStop gets automatically upgraded to the [Register or Login to view links] of GT6.

In addition to the exclusive...

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is Coming to PS3, PS4 and PS Vita in 2014

50°
52w ago - WayForward Creative Director Matt Bozon confirmed that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is coming to PS3, PS4 and PS Vita platforms in 2014.

To quote: Next year, [Register or Login to view links] is bringing the highly animated action adventure series [Register or Login to view links] to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita in the form of a brand new game: [Register or Login to view links]!

Since there's a good chance you're hearing about Shantae for the first time, here's a bit of background. Shantae is the name of the half-genie main character who carves through enemies with her destructive ponytail, and belly dances to transform into mythological creatures, animals, swords... and well, pretty much anything. There aren't many games that include the art of sensual dance as a main game mechanic, but Shantae pulls it off nicely.

The gameplay is best compared to Super Metroid or Castlevania Symphony of the Night, but with the visual styling of WayForward's own Ducktales: Remastered. WayForward puts its traditional feature film style animation in the front row along side rock solid gameplay, which has its roots firmly planted in the 8 and 16 bit era of classic gaming. WayForward's engine moves the...

Nicalis Details Legend of Raven for PlayStation Vita Handheld

50°
54w ago - Today Tyrone Rodriguez at Nicalis detailed Legend of Raven for the PlayStation Vita handheld console.

Below are the details, to quote: Fighting and PS Vita fans, rejoice! If you follow great PS Vita games, you probably know that Legend of Raven, the high-speed, 2D fighter, is coming later this year. And if you don't know about Legend of Raven, where have you been?

Legend of Raven features an awesome, hard-rocking guitar soundtrack, beautifully drawn characters and backgrounds, and gameplay to rival some of the best 2D fighters available today.

Headed to PSN, Legend of Raven will give you guys and girls the opportunity to go head-to-head locally (via Ad Hoc) with your friends.

A super-unique color commentary system emulates that old arcade experience. I'm sure some of you remember going to arcades or watching tournaments, seeing AND hearing the action.

It's just like that, except without the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds. Literally, the in-game commentary will pop-up from time to time when you're clobbering an opponent with a vicious combo or finishing them off with a super move.

For those among us who want to learn a bit more about how the controls work, Legend of Raven features a four-button attack system and two varieties of punches and...
