199w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a follow-up interview video today with Final Fantasy XIII Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama to answer PS3 fan questions.
To quote: Earlier in the week, we told you we'd be meeting up with Square Enix to talk Final Fantasy XIII with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama, along with the Battle Director Yuji Abe.
So all your questions went to the former, which you can read in full form below.
But the FFXIII love fest didn't end there. With the game less than a month away (March 9!), Jeff and I got to play a nice chunk of the game... enough to get familiar with the battle system to chat all about it with Mr. Abe.
In the video, you'll get an in-depth look into the game's battle system, which I have to say, once you understand it, it's quite intense.

199w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a Final Fantasy XIII PS3 interview today with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama.
To quote: We're heading up to San Francisco later today to speak with Mr. Kitase and Mr. Toriyama, as well as FFXIII's Battle Director Yuji Abe for the first time.
So now's the time to get those final questions out there (That's Final Fantasy XIII only, so please keep your questions on that topic. They won't be discussing anything Versus- or Agito-related). We're almost exactly a month out from the game's release, after all!
Thanks so much for your many questions – they were far too numerous for me to ask them all, but I hope you agree that I covered all the important ones with the game's Producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and Director, Motomu Toriyama. Can you believe it's only four weeks until the game is in our hands? It's been a long wait, but we're almost...
202w ago - Square Enix Europe's Brand Manager Antonio Marfuggi has revealed the Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Limited Collector's Edition alongside a video today on the EU PlayStation Blog.
To quote: We've had to cross the perilous lands of Pulse and wade through hordes of Chocobos in order to bring this to you, but we're finally there: FINAL FANTASY XIII will be available in a LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION, from 9th March 2010.
Along with the game, this special edition will include some exclusive pieces of content especially thought for the FINAL FANTASY fan that lies in all of us:
FINAL FANTASY XIII Original Sound Selection: a soundtrack CD including a selection of tunes from the game, especially chosen for this Limited Collector's Edition by composer Masashi Hamauzu. The CD is presented inside a slipcase featuring artwork from FINAL FANTASY XIII, with liner notes written by the composer himself.
The World of FINAL FANTASY XIII: an exclusive hardback book featuring characters artwork, CG rendered images and environments from across the game production.
Exclusive Art Prints: 3 highly collectable art prints showing artwork of the Eidolons, powerful summoned allies of the lead playable characters of FINAL FANTASY XIII.
202w ago - Today TheLostGamer.com (linked above) has spotted some Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Collector's Edition details on GameStop.it, GameStop's Italian-based online site.
According to the listing over on, the FFXIII Collector's Edition for PlayStation 3 is set to be priced at €79.98 and will include the following, to quote:
• Art Book
• Prequel Novel to Final Fantasy XIII (possibly an English version of the Japanese book, Episode Zero)
• Graphic Novel
• Collector Illustration (we imagine this means a postcard)
"I'd imagine that Square Enix would announce the Collector's Edition as their final "13th" announcement on February 13th, so please remember that for now this is completely unconfirmed and may be a complete mistake on Gamestop's part."
202w ago - Today SCEE Social Media Manager Jem Alexander has announced that Sony is seeking your Final Fantasy XIII PS3 interview questions, which can be submitted via the link above on the European PlayStation Blog.
To quote: I still have to pinch myself to test that I'm not dreaming, but it only results in my arms being covered in bruises. Which means just one thing: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months time.
Okay, two things: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months and I need to cut my nails.
Luckily the wait will be slightly less painful for me because later today I'll be seeing the English version of Final Fantasy XIII in action and asking some questions to the game's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and director, Motomu Toriyama. I can't bring you guys along and let you play the game with me (even though I'd love to!), but I can get your questions answered.
So make sure you fill up the comments section with your most burning questions and I'll pick the best ones tonight to ask to the guys behind the game.
Unfortunately it looks like I'm not going to get this one video'd, but at least this means you'll get your hands on the answers sooner.
