VidZone PS3 Update - Easter Video Eggstravaganza Arrives

50°
229w ago - VidZone's Head of Production Ben Creasey has posted up an Easter video eggstravaganza today as part of the PS3 update.

To quote: We have got a whole host of things for you this week (as usual!).

This Week

Holiday Hits

Chocolate, Eggs, Bunnies (a whole lot of Christianity) and general Eastery goodness. Get into the spirit with Super Furry Animals 'Hello Sunshine', The Coral 'In The Morning' and The Pointer Sisters 'I'm So Excited'

Paloma Faith Interview

You ever wanted to know what Miss Faith has to say for herself... She has always seemed like an interesting "cat" in my eyes, and turns out I'm right... Watch the EXCLUSIVE interview here.

Artists of the Week

Kate Nash (UK, Ireland)

I will not mention her hair colour... for it is not important... and I happen to find redheads very attractive anyway... Dammit... Fail... This playlist features (amongst others) her new single 'Do Wah Doo'

Amy MacDonald (Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal)

Scottish singer songwriter Amy Macdonald is back with her new single called 'Don't Tell Me That It's Over'. Watch that and her other videos here....

Easter City Event, MAG and Irem Items Hit PlayStation Home

50°
229w ago - PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist Locust_Star has posted the US PS Home update this week, which includes an Easter City Huntdown vvent, MAG and Irem virtual items, The Tester marathon and more!

To quote: To start, we are celebrating the arrival of spring in the only way we know how - by throwing a huge event smattered with the irreverent humor you've come to know and love.

This Friday, April 2, all of you action movie fans will want to log into PlayStation Home to partake in our Easter City Huntdown event.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, and movies are worth a million pictures, so I'll let the clip below speak for itself. Needless to say, you won't want to miss out on this one.

The PlayStation Home Mall will also be seeing quite an update this week, with a host of Anime-themed virtual items (to complement the Anime personal space we released last week) and MAG costumes being released.

And if you head to the updated UNCHARTED 2 space or the Irem Carnival you can pick up new costumes (a Sark costume and a host of Western-themed items, respectively). Check the pics below for a sample of what is coming into PlayStation Home tomorrow, April 1.

Be sure to visit the PlayStation...

NVidia's $3,500 Video Card is a Beast!

200°
302w ago - I am a huge PC gamer. I don't necessarily have the most powerful rig to run the latest and greatest games with all the bells and whistles turned on, but it serves me just fine.

However, there are some of you who will stop at nothing to have the ultimate gaming PC. For those people I present to you... the nVidia Quadro FX 5800.

What makes the nVidia Quadro FX 5800 so awesome, you ask? Well, for starters it has 4GB of onboard memory, and has a bandwidth of 102GB/s.

Or to translate: It's the most powerful graphics card on Earth.

So how much do you think this bad boy costs? $400? $500? $800?! ...no. Try $3,500.

Yeah, $3,500. For $3,500 you could buy a whole computer – and a damn good one, at that. But, if you have the money to burn (and I mean that literally) and you want to see if a graphics card that was designed for medical computers can handle Far Cry 2... why not?

Note: I know it's not a gaming card... It's a graphics card designed to handle precise rendering, and is used heavily in the field of medicine. Usually on those 3D CT scans.

Resistance 2 Easter Egg Gives Props to Metal Gear Solid 4

100°
302w ago - You know, Easter Eggs are always fun little secrets to seek out -- such as this one from Resistance 2, which candidly gives a shout out to Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4.

Reader Jay stumbled upon this "MGS4PWNS" sign in co-op mode. It looks like the ladies and gents at Insomniac have enjoyed MGS4 quite a bit. And why not? It's great.

To see the EE for yourself, just check out the Spec Op's ammo crate after "prototype ammo berserk" has been activated.

We haven't tried this ourselves yet this weekend, but we're sure we'll run into it sometime. So how about you? Have you found anything interesting in your gaming sessions this weekend?

More Burnout Paradise Trophies in Upcoming Eastwood Update

50°
307w ago - Looks like more trophies are headed Burnout's way in the Eastwood Update, which if you don't know also adds a whole new island to the game! Exciting stuff.

Also if you look closely you'll notice they say "Packs".. does that mean there will be more updates after Eastwood? How much more can Criterion add to this game?!

To quote: In a spectacular week of support for PlayStation 3 Paradise fans, we released our highly anticipated Burnout Bikes Pack (bringing a stack of new gameplay to Paradise City), the PSN version of the game (that's right, you can now buy Burnout Paradise on the PlayStation Store) and our PlayStation 3 Trophy Support Pack.

Here on the team, we're playing through Paradise picking up the wealth of trophies, and we know plenty of our fans have already blasted through and collected everything. How many have you got?

For all the detail, check out our comprehensive trophy list, and look out for announcements of new Burnout Paradise Gameplay Packs coming soon. All our packs will give you the chance to collect more Trophies.
