189w ago - IGN reports that Capcom is currently testing new DRM protection on Final Fight: Double Impact via PlayStation Network in an effort to combat PSN GameSharing.
It is important to note, however, that the game only requires one initial check at at start-up. Once the game has loaded, it appears you can then sign out of PSN.
To quote: "He later discovered Final Fight: Double Impact can only be played on the same account it was purchased on.
Capcom issued a response to his concern, according to his message post, saying this move was done in an effort to combat "rampant" game sharing on PlayStation Network but emphasized this may not be implemented on all future titles.
"Yes, there is DRM. This was employed to combat the rampant 'PSN Sharing' that has been going on over the last year," a representative wrote to nacthenud. "We're sorry that your family cannot play the game on their individual accounts (same console). This is a limitation of the Sony network."
"We are not committed to do this with all titles moving forward but the only way to evaluate impact was to try it with one title first."
190w ago - Capcom's PR Specialist Jason Allen has revealed today to fans that Final Fight: Double Impact will be coming to PSN this week.
To quote: Capcom's ready to unleash the next masterpiece in its retro digital dynasty. Make way for Final Fight: Double Impact, hitting PlayStation Network with a vintage vengeance!
Starting tomorrow, April 15th, fans can own two incredible Capcom classic releases – Final Fight and Magic Sword – all for the price of one ($9.99).
In Final Fight, players follow the heart-pounding adventures of Cody, Guy, and Haggar – three heroes fighting their way across crime-ridden Metro City in hopes of saving Haggar's daughter from the evil clutches of Mad Gear. In Magic Sword, users will take on the role of a brave warrior and his eight allies, all bearing the daunting responsibility of cleansing evil forces from an ancient tower.
These two games take us back to a time when arcades were sanctuaries of youthful bliss. They are un-self-conscious treasures, clear in their pursuit to inflame the imagination and turn players into brawling action heroes. At Capcom, we've sought to reacquaint our fans with this experience...

211w ago - Guerrilla Games Lead Online Game Designer Eric Boltjes has announced that in celebration of Killzone for PS2 turning five a Double XP weekend is in order, as follows:
November 26 will be a very special day for all of us here at Guerrilla. On that day, exactly five years ago, the very first Killzone title for PlayStation 2 hit the shelves in Europe.
Sure, the game had already been released in the US three weeks prior, but hey... Guerrilla is based in the Netherlands. We commemorate the 26th because that's the date that we were finally able to see the fruits of our labor in Dutch stores.
Of course, it would be a shame to leave this occasion unmarked - and I'm not talking about the champagne and strange Dutch snacks we'll undoubtedly be having at the studio. We also want to celebrate it with you, the fans. After all, the Killzone brand wouldn't be where it is today without your support. So here's what we have in store for you over the next few days:
Looking back at Killzone 1
Later this week on Killzone.com, Seb "Motherh" Downie and I are going to play through the first Killzone game for you. We'll be commenting on our favorite sections and wallowing in beer-induced nostalgia.
228w ago - Guerrilla Games Producer Sebastian Downie has announced on the PlayStation Blog news that the Killzone 2 Double XP weekend starts now!
To quote: It has been a exciting week at Guerrilla Games with the release of the third DLC map pack "Napalm & Cordite", the release of patch 1.29, the latest update to www.killzone.com, the announcement of the "Map Pack Bundle" and the opening of "Our World" an art exhibition here in the Netherlands based around the visually creative process of making the Killzone 2 universe and those that inhabit it.
So to celebrate all this we have decided to give back to the folks who have supported us through thick and thin since the release of Killzone 2: You. The most attractive and charismatic fans any video-game can have. (Yes, flattery won't get me anywhere) And what better way to thank ones loyal fans than with POINTS!
This weekend from Friday at 17:30 GMT till Monday morning at 09:00, any games created will give extra XP points to let you guys rank up...
