Dragon's Crown Update: Atlus Publishing Title for PS3 and PS Vita

250°
128w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has confirmed today that they will be publishing the upcoming video game entitled Dragon's Crown for both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: You know how you're really excited for something and then something happens and you get even more excited?

Like that time you found out they were making a movie for The Hobbit and you were excited... but kinda bummed that Peter Jackson wouldn't be directing it.

But guess what happened: Peter Jackson announced that he would in fact direct it, and you got a heck of a lot more excited. Right?

Remember Dragon's Crown, the next project from Vanillaware announced at last E3, a multiplayer action RPG with beautiful hand-drawn visuals slated to come to PS3 and PS Vita?

BREAKING NEWS: Atlus is taking over publishing duties in Japan and North America! What's more, key (and very talented) members of the Atlus internal development team will be involved with the project as producer(s).

You know, some of the people who've worked on games in the critically acclaimed Persona series. Yeah, we know: we're stoked, too!

What does this mean for the game? For one, it means that it's going to be better than ever. It will, however, come a bit later than originally...

200°
129w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today that Persona 3 FES is hitting PlayStation Network tomorrow with details below.

To quote:... There's a new PlayStation 2 Classic coming to PlayStation Network. I want to talk to you about it. Instead of just getting to the darn point, though...LET'S DRAG THIS OUT.

Join me, won't you, as we take a trip back in time? Step into this police box with me, please. Get the door behind you? Thanks.

Ok, the year is 2008. You just saw Al Pacino's 88 Minutes in theaters. It was terrible.

You're on your way home, your head hung low in abject disappointment, when you pass by your local INSERT NAME OF YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO GAME RETAILER HERE. What's that? New releases? You wander in to take a closer look, thinking that a new game might help cleanse your mental palate...

Whoa. Wait, didn't Persona 3 come out in 2007? Sure, it was one of the best RPGs you ever played, introducing one of the most memorable casts of characters ever and a ridiculously sweet half-dungeon RPG/half-social sim gameplay mechanic that let you balance the everyday demands of a high school student with the every night demands of a world-saving, Persona-wielding badass.

And then there was FES. It took the original game,...

Atlus ReVITAlized PSP Price Drop Event is Live Today on PSN

100°
131w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today that their reVITAlized PSP price drop event is now live on PSN.

To quote: We (the fine people at Atlus) are dropping prices on our PlayStation Store library of PSP system titles, not unlike the PS Vita's undocumented ability to drop smaller articles of sub-clothing. We're calling it...

Want to own the complete PSP Persona collection, including Persona 3 Portable, which is tied for the second-best-reviewed PSP game of ALL TIME, according to Gamerankings.com?

It is now far more affordable to do so. Also getting a drop in price is the very recent Persona 2: Innocent Sin, a stunning handheld remake of one our company's most highly anticipated games!

Always been a fan of Sting's series of Dept Heaven RPG and SRPG genre-benders? Perhaps you've always been curious to see how Knights in the Nightmare, with its incredibly novel blend of tactical roleplaying and bullet-hell action, looks and plays?

Well, for less than half the price of a new console game, you can own every PSP Dept Heaven game we've ever released (which should set you up nicely for the upcoming June release of Gungnir for PSP, the next entry in the acclaimed series).

Besides the aforementioned two collections,...

Atlus Announces Persona 4 Arena Brawls on PS3 This Summer

350°
135w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today that Persona 4 Arena will be brawling onto the PS3 entertainment system this summer.

To quote: Look, I'm just going to come out and say it: this summer, ATLUS is bringing Persona 4 Arena to a PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system near you (and if it's near you we're going to go ahead and assume you own it).

One of the most successful, highest-rated RPG franchises of the last few years is our very own Persona series. The two most recent games, Persona 3 and Persona 4, were hailed for their memorable casts of characters, plots that defied many established clich├ęs, and mechanics and visual designs that stood apart from their competitors.

Collaborating with fighting genre masters Arc System Works (the folks who made a little series called [Register or Login to view links]), ATLUS is taking the Persona universe, complete with its added "summon your inner power" wrinkle, and transforming it into one of the most unique, visually stunning fighting games you've ever laid your eyes on. Or whatever part of your body you lay on things.

Persona 4 was all about a world inside the TV; those who were thrown in were featured on the mysterious Midnight Channel, with only days to live.

Atlus Announces Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Heading to PSP

100°
140w ago - Today Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced that Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time is officially heading to the PSP.

To quote: It's been years since the last Growlanser game, dearest members of the Blog of PlayStation ([Register or Login to view links], for those of you playing "PlayStation Blog: The At-Home Edition," was released for PS2 back in 2007).

Even before that, hardcore RPG fans have been clamoring for the fourth entry, one of their favorites in the series, to make its way to North America. Now, there are always factors for games released in Japan to either never come or come much, much later to US shores. This was one of those cases where hope seemed quite faint.

Just this past week, those hopes were given a prescription-strength injection of horse steroids as Atlus (that's us) officially announced Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, the enhanced PSP version of the long-beloved and much-requested fourth chapter in the popular series of RPGs, for release this summer in North America.

Let's tune out all those exclamations of shock that ATLUS is releasing a PSP game in 2012 (because it isn't going to be the only one) and get to the heart of the matter: telling you everything you need...
