Candescent Games Announces Tinertia is Rocket Jumping to PS4

50°
5w ago - Candescent Games Inc CEO Vilas Tewari announced today that Tinertia PS4 is rocket jumping to the PlayStation 4 console with details below.

To quote: Hello, PlayStation nation! My name is Vilas and I'm the lead programmer at Candescent Games. Together with Section Studios, we're thrilled to announce that Tinertia is headed to PS4.

Tinertia is a hardcore platformer without a jump button. "What? No jump button," you ask? Well, instead of a plain old jump button, we give you a rocket launcher with infinite ammo! If you like rocket jumping and physics, you're in for a treat!

Our goal with Tinertia is to create a truly new platforming experience. The platformer is the grandaddy of game genres, so to create something unique we tackled its core mechanic; the jump button. If you're like us, you have at some point rocket jumped around Quake, Unreal, or Team Fortress.

It's a fun and exhilarating experience due to its imprecision and randomness through physics. However, when mastered, it becomes a fast and precise way to traverse a map. With rocket jumping as the basis for movement, we created a twin stick platformer. You use the left stick to walk and the right stick to shoot in any direction.

Tinertia's design pillars are depth and mastery. The game worlds are crafted...

OriGaminc Announces Henka Twist Caper is Coming to PS4 in 2015

6w ago - OriGaminc Developer Shawn Pierre announced today that Henka Twist Caper is coming to PS4 in 2015 with details below.

To quote: The digital world is a great place to play and experience games. But hey, let's not forget the physical space, which is certainly not without its charm. And sometimes, there are games that combine the two!

Well, today I want to share a game I've been working on which takes digital and physical, and combines them into a quirky play session. It's time to twist, turn, and move around your friends in Henka Twist Caper!

Henka Twist Caper brings play to the physical space with the help of PlayStation's unique controllers. Players take a controller, twist, turn, and position it until they find the correct, secret position for their controller. Once they find their position, the controller lights up.

Holding it in the correct position adds points to a player's meter. As one would expect, the first one to fill their meter wins. Of course, there's a catch. Players are allowed to interfere with each other. Which, in a race against others, makes all the difference.

So, let's say you're twisting, turning, and pointing your own controller, but then notice your arch rival's controller lighting up. You'll have to do your best to maintain your composure,...

Sony Announces Freedom Wars: Special Operations Start Today

250°
6w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino announced that Freedom Wars: Special Operations start today with details below.

To quote: My fellow sinners,

Let me be the first to say that I've been completely overwhelmed by all of the love we've seen for Freedom Wars since we launched last Tuesday - I can't say thank you enough.

Reviews have been great, the online battles have been intense, and I've had the pleasure of fighting alongside some of the most amazing Sinners I'd ever imagined. It's hard to believe how many of you are already at CODE 7 and 8.

But what's left to challenge you after you've reached CODE 8? What kind of extra-tough challenges are there to keep you busy once your Panopticon is at the top of the charts? Allow me to introduce the downloadable "Special Operations" - extra difficult missions meant only for the highest-level teams out there, rotating in and out on a daily basis.

"But what's in it for me?" you might ask. What if I told you that certain rare resources will only be available to those who complete these Special Operations? That the key to completing that weapon you've dreamed of lies within one of these extra difficult missions? Tempted?

I hope so, because that's exactly what's at stake here. Co-op is highly recommended...

Sony Announces Dragon Age: Inquisition is Great for Newcomers

100°
6w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements announced today that Dragon Age: Inquisition is great for newcomers to PS4 and PS3.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links], the latest chapter in BioWare's sweeping fantasy saga, wastes no time beginning its urgent, world-splitting story.

Truth be told, the developers have sewn a great amount of detail onto the main menu alone. Starting a new game catapults the idyllic scene of a snowy peace summit into utter devastation. And that's just the menu.

For those who have followed previous chapters of Dragon Age, the story is dense and rich with lore. But when a seething, green portal opens in our world and welcomes in legions of demons, players have a straightforward cause to rally behind.

In Dragon Age: Inquisition, players follow the story of a survivor that emerges from this demonic blast (almost) unscathed. The site of the explosion had been host to a peace summit organized by Divine Justinia, who sought an end to the strife between mages and Templars. With those plans wholly awry, the main character – the Inquisitor – is tasked with upholding Justinia's legacy and hunting down the demonic agents haunting the realm.

Kalio Announces Ring Run Circus Hits PS Vita on November 11th

50°
7w ago - Kalio's Ciro Mondueri announced today that Ring Run Circus hits PS Vita on November 11th, 2014 with details below.

To quote: Hello, readers! My name is Ciro and I'm part of Kalio, a small independent studio in Uruguay.

We are thrilled to announce that our latest game Ring Run Circus will be launching on PS Vita and Playstation TV on November 11th, 2014. The launch price will be $9.99, with PS Plus members receiving a 20% off discount for a limited time.

Ring Run Circus is a unique sort of game which we like to call a "ring-former": an action-puzzle game set in a dream world of connected rings. Players take the role of three uniquely talented acrobats - Nina, Ned, and Nelson - and help them navigate this strange world full of hazards, circus animals, and tricky puzzles.

The goal of each level is to grab the colorful key and get to the exit door as quickly as possible leaving no stars behind. The controls are quite simple; one button to ride on the outside or inside of the rings, and another one to activate each acrobat's special ability: Nina jumps, Ned punches, and Nelson triggers mechanisms to move rings around.

Don't let the seemingly simple controls deceive you, though. There is enough challenge waiting, not only for your skill - proper timing to change...
