European PlayStation Store Update for December 17, 2009

50°
241w ago - Today Mike Kebby of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted this week's European PSN update, as follows:

Good morning - the store will be updated nice and early today, so I'm still a little bleary eyed.

Our batch of special offers for the festive period begins today, but we'll also be adding a few more titles next week too. From today though, you'll be able to grab games such as Burn Zombie Burn!, Bomberman Ultra and Battlefield 1943 at lower prices.

Also following the firmware update last week, minis now join the fun on PS3, so you can now enjoy the majority of our minis on both formats.

Next week we're updating the store on Tuesday the 22nd of December, and then that's it for the holidays - normal service will resume from Thursday the 7th of January.

Finally, as a personal Christmas gift to some of you lucky, lucky readers, I have some codes I'll be giving out over the next week - there is no competition to enter - all I'll be doing is scouring your comments and giving codes out to those who have left constructive / commendable feedback (think of this as a 'letter of the week' type deal, except it's more 'comments of the week'). These codes will be sent from my store management PSN account and will give you your code directly,...

So, the time has come: I can finally reveal the tracks and SongPacks in the last ever SingStore update of 2009! I hate to say, I am just a little bit proud of myself for not giving anything away previously - it's not been easy

Here you go then. I hope you'll be as excited as me about some of the stuff in the update and I certainly look forward to seeing some of you with your families and friends giving some amazing holiday perfomances on My SingStar Online in the nest few weeks.

Just in time for the upcoming festivities we've got four, yes, four SongPacks for you to celebrate with.

There's no doubt about it, these guys are the first family of Motown and you can be part of the phenomoenon by downloading the brand new Jackson 5 SongPack. There is also great classical pop from Il Divo, feelgood tunes from Eddy Grant and the SingStar Essentials: Party Picks SongPack -

Last but not least, a big thanks to all you guys who have supported SingStar throughout 2009 and of course to the whole team here who have worked really hard this past year to make the SingStore bigger and better than ever.

Video: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II VGA 2009 Debut Trailer

242w ago - A debut trailer video for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 was revealed during the 2009 VGAs last night.

Showing only CG footage, you'll play as the Apprentice once again, but this time he doesn't seem to be siding with the Sith or any specific side of the Force.

Yoda and Darth Vader are heard talking to him throughout the trailer telling him about loss and death.

If these will play major roles in the game isn't known right now, but it could be a major plot development point for the game, much like Anakin Skywalker's decent into darkness out of fear of losing his loved ones.

The trailer shows him doing battle in what appears to be an arena and then ends.
