The Last Guy Gets PS3 Trophies Tomorrow, Add-On Next Month

100°
291w ago - U.S. Producer Josh Miller has revealed that The Last Guy will be getting PS3 Trophies tomorrow, with an add-on coming next month.

To quote: I'm happy to announce that tomorrow the game will receive a free update that adds Trophies to the game. I'm excited since it gives me a reason to play through the game again.

If you haven't heard of The Last Guy, the game came out last summer, preceded by an "interesting" developer diary video. It's a classic and addictive "line" game with simple controls that uses satellite maps of real cities around the world, including San Francisco, Tokyo, and Sydney, as its levels.

Here's a trailer to get an idea of what the game is about and what the visuals look like.

You play a hero who rescues people hiding out in buildings and leads them to the safety zone for evacuation while avoiding zombie monsters that roam the streets. The bigger the line, the bigger the bonus. But bigger lines also make it harder to avoid monsters, who make people scatter when they get close.

You can use thermo vision to see where people are hiding, and pick up power-ups scattered throughout the levels to stop time, fill up your energy meter and more. The...

Resident Evil: Director's Cut PSOne Available Tomorrow on PSN

200°
291w ago - Capcom's Project Manager Matt Dahlgren announced today that Resident Evil: Director's Cut (PSOne) will be hitting PSN tomorrow:

Today I get to blog about the PSone Resident Evil: Director's Cut, which will be available for download tomorrow on PSN for $9.99.

I don't think I'll ever get to make a statement like this in a blog ever again.

The original Resident Evil is a game that defined my personality as a gamer for years to come. (I've got two others on my list of influential games, FF7 and Tekken, each for their respective genre - but I'll keep this RE centered.)

The early experiences that you have in gaming set you up for what to expect in the future. If you have a positive enough experience, you attempt to find it time and time again - but I don't think a game will ever affect me in the same way that this one did.

Going back and tinkering around with this game after so many years off got me thinking about how different gaming was 10 years ago in comparison to today. Games back then were hard. I remember dying at the first zombie while trying to figure out a weird control scheme, yet being mesmerized with the fact that I could control the outcome in a 3D environment.

It took me a while to get the grasp of everything, and I died...

Crimson Gem Saga RPG Ships Tomorrow for PlayStation Portable

100°
291w ago - Today Clayton Chan of Crimson Gem Saga, Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament has revealed that a new RPG for Sony's PSP called Crimson Gem Saga ships tomorrow.

To quote: Crimson Gem Saga is a turn-based RPG that boasts all the fundamentals of solid, satisfying RPG action that seasoned genre veterans crave, developed by our fine friends and partners in Korea, IronNos and SK Telecom.

We've heard the cries and clamoring of PSP owners looking for a deep RPG experience, so we're bringing you one, just in time for the long summer months. Crimson Gem Saga boasts interesting customization for your weapons and skills, powerful combination attacks, and will keep you on your toes with the ever-present threat/opportunity of Ambush attacks and Critical Combo chains.

That's all in addition to a fun script that is full of memorable characters, entertaining events, and fantastic moments that separate the overall experience from what's already available out there.

The Ambush system will keep you on your toes in a way most standard RPGs won't be able to match. Instead of just wandering into a random battle after "X" steps on the field map, Crimson Gem Saga allows you to either avoid these battles, or exploit enemies who aren't...

Devil Summoner 2 - RPG Action for PS2 Hitting Tomorrow

50°
293w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced news today that Devil Summoner 2 will be hitting Sony's PS2 console tomorrow.

To quote: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon, one of our biggest games (and game names) of the year, comes out tomorrow for PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.

The second game in the Devil Summoner series to make its way to North America, Devil Summoner 2 continues the tradition, putting you in the shoes of Raidou Kuzunoha, a supernatural private investigator in 1920's Japan.

The world design and character art soaks the game with early 20th century style, and lends a great deal of credibility and authenticity to the story. The Shin Megami Tensei series itself, if you're unfamiliar, is a franchise of deep, thought-provoking, character-driven RPGs, known for its powerful visual design, music, and writing.

As for the story, who better to tell you what it's about than the game's lead human editor, Nich Maragos (who also worked on Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army):

"It's about the 14th chosen protector of the Capital and his journey to discover a mysterious man's whereabouts. It's about a client who never quite tells you the whole story, and finding out...
