50°
13w ago - Below is a guide from kingplay on how to control your PS4 using the TV remote control for those interested, as follows:

To quote: How to Control Your PS4 Using the TV Remote Control Guide

In order to watch a movie or anything in PS4 you probably prefer using a remote control rather than a DualShock4 to control movie playback and to launch the console, but no new official device is available to do this.

Fortunately, there is a solution for this. I will teach you through this tutorial how to use a remote control on your PS4. I will give you the procedure with a Samsung TV.

Note: Your TV must be compatible with HDMI-CEC option, to know if this is the case, look in the manual, or search in the menus of your TV.

The first thing to do is to activate the option in the system of the PlayStation 4.

  • To do this, go to the Settings menu.
  • Then, go to the System menu at the bottom.
  • And then you must check the box "Activate device HDMI link".
  • Now in the menu on your TV, you must go to the HDMI-CEC related menu. On a Samsung, it is in the application menu, and then in Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).
  • Go to the Configuration menu.
  • Turn the HDMI-CEC option to ON.
  • Return to the previous menu, and go to...

50°
13w ago - Blue Estate Comic Books Author Viktor Kalvachev announced that Blue Estate is out Tuesday on PS4 alongside a free demo and PS Plus discount details below.

To quote: Hi, I'm Viktor Kalvachev, the creator of Blue Estate, and today I'd like to introduce you to Tony Luciano, one of the two characters you can play in our brand new arcade shooter.

Life isn't always easy for the only son of the Boss of the West Coast Mob. Your dad says things like "Your mother still cries herself to sleep every night for giving birth to such an imbecile." Tony grew up an angry kid and became a vicious killer, whose diplomacy skills begin and end with a .357 Desert Eagle.

Blue Estate is out next week with a free demo available for all PS4 players. And for as low as $19.99 with an additional 20% off for PS+ members, it just doesn't get any better.

Play the demo alone or with a friend in co-op mode, enjoy some good old light gun arcade action, and spread the word. Once you've mastered the game, you can up the next difficulty level and test your skills.

Sony Offers a Closer Look at LittleBigPlanet 3's New PS4 Characters

50°
13w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton offers a closer look today at LittleBigPlanet 3's new PS4 characters with details below, as follows:

One of the big surprises of E3 week was seeing LittleBigPlanet 3 unveiled live on stage during the PlayStation media briefing.

If you haven't got yourself up to speed already, Sackboy is all set to make his PS4 debut this November. Along with a raft of new features for Create mode, the major new additions to the series come in the form of three new playable characters: Swoop, Oddsock and Toggle.

"We've spent a long time working on the characters," explained XDev's Pete Smith backstage at LA. "Not just making sure that they look distinctive but also that they each offer unique gameplay. That, for me, is the big thing.

We want people to go 'Wow, they really change up the game, and I can create totally new experiences with them'.

"We were also keen to make sure that they were very iconic from a silhouette point of view, so that when you look at them together you can instantly tell them apart. Yet we still wanted them to feel like they were part of the Sackboy family, rather than just a watered down version of the same character."

Indeed, having played through hugely enjoyable E3 demo a few times over, I can confirm that...

Video: Pavilion on PS4: Extended Gameplay Trailer Revealed

50°
13w ago - Visiontrick Media Co-founder and Creative Director Henrik Flink shared a Pavilion PS4 extended gameplay trailer below today with PlayStation 4 fans.

To quote: Greetings, dear PlayStation.Blog readers! Today we want to bring up two things: an extended cut of our latest trailer, and some more insight into Pavilion's gameplay.

First, as most people know, E3 happened last week. Even though we weren't able to attend, we released a new Pavilion trailer that was shown at the PlayStation booth and uploaded on the [Register or Login to view links].

There was a time limit to the trailer and we therefore had to exclude two scenes from the original cut. We thought about it, and why not release the original extended version of the trailer as a bonus to this post?

The second thing, as requested, is to uncover some more information about the gameplay of Pavilion. Without going too deep spoiling specific puzzle features, we'll try to shed some light on the overarching gameplay by presenting the three fundamental components that make up Pavilion's puzzle design. These three things are woven together, and all three aspects need to be taken into account when solving puzzling situations.

Valiant Hearts: Historical Research and The Dogs in The Trenches

50°
13w ago - Ubisoft Content Manager Ed Casey shared a video today alongside some historical research and details on the dogs in the trenches in Valiant Hearts coming to PS4 and PS3 platforms below.

To quote: Though the characters in Valiant Hearts are fictional, the game is based in the very real and tragic history of World War I.

Teaming with World War I historian groups, the Valiant Hearts development team was able to craft a story rooted deeply in the history of the era that tells the story of individuals swept up in the chaos and destruction of The Great War.

In this Developer Diary we learn about the research done by the development team in order to weave historical fact and fiction together and tell a story of crossed destinies and a broken love torn apart by the chaos and horror of the war.

We also meet Walt The Dog and learn about "casualty dogs" or "mercy dogs" and the role they played in the trenches and on the battlefields in the darkest nights of World War I.

Valiant Hearts will be available June 24th, 2014 on PS4 and PS3. Check out Valiant Hearts on [Register or Login to view links], [Register or Login to view links], or on its official [Register or Login to view links]
