Tales From Space: About a Blob New Co-op Map Pack Hits PSN

50°
160w ago - DrinkBox Studios CTO & Designer Chris Harvey has announced today news of a new Tales From Space: About a Blob Co-op Map Pack hitting PSN soon.

To quote: Greetings once again, opaque and bipedal earthlings! It's been awhile since I, Orange Blob, have been in touch. You may remember me from my PSN game Tales from Space: About a Blob, where I grew and consumed your world and all its inhabitants.

I've been away recently, you see, visiting a strange and unusual planet in a not-too-distant solar system. I was accompanied by my good friend Green Blob. It's nice to travel with friends, although Green Blob sometimes snores.

Exploring an alien planet is not for the faint of heart. Throughout our adventures, we were often confronted by tricky alien contraptions that required BOTH of us to get past. All this puzzle solving leaves a Blob feeling pretty hungry. Luckily, we were able to sample some local delicacies, i.e. the alien life-forms. They taste exactly like chicken.

Once again, the folks over at [Register or Login to view links] have been kind enough to re-create our adventures in video-game form. If you have a friend nearby, toss them a controller and see if you can put your brains together to solve these wacky alien puzzles!

The new...

Our first PS3 title, [Register or Login to view links], will hit the North American PlayStation Store later this afternoon!

[Register or Login to view links] is a small indie studio from Uppsala in Sweden and we have worked hard to bring "aha!" moments to you PSN gamers.

The moment when the solution to a problem hits you is called an "aha!" or "Eureka!" moment. It is a feeling of satisfaction and the brain dances... that is the feeling that we want to let you experience with the 100 puzzles in Puzzle Dimension.

The rules are very simple. You control a ball that can jump and move in four directions. Your mission is to roll the ball on 3D structures, pick up flowers and reach the exit. It sounds simple enough, but the puzzles get more complex and new types of blocks are gradually introduced to constantly give you new challenges.

Puzzle games can easily become very static and that is why we decided to create a more interactive experience. By exploding the pixel graphics when the player moves we achieved two...

Shadows of the Damned: A New Vision of Hell Hits PS3 Today

100°
161w ago - Electronic Arts Senior Producer Steve Matulac has announced that Shadows of the Damned: A New Vision of Hell hits PS3 today.

To quote: In my 20 years in the industry, I have never had an experience like the one working on Shadows of the Damned.

First off, I spent the majority of last year living in Japan and onsite with the developer; Suda51 and [Register or Login to view links]. It was a great experience living in Tokyo and working alongside the great team at Grasshopper Manufacture.

The concept of light and dark as a metaphor for good and evil is an old one, but the Light and Dark gameplay in Shadows of the Damned takes it to a whole new level. It is less literal, but rather metaphorical, in the pain and torment that is caused to our hero.

As for gameplay, the player should not take the approach of "shoot anything that moves". Each environment and enemy will require a thoughtful approach in order to progress. Usually, darkness is lethal to the player, but sometimes may be required in order to expose an enemy's weakness.

Each situation is different and the player must build upon the earlier concepts encountered in order to defeat the tougher enemies deeper in the game. Shadows of the Damned is the thinking...
