Video: Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space Hits PSN Tomorrow

50°
171w ago - Telltale Games Manager of Public Relations and Social Media Alan Johnson has announced that Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space will be hitting PSN tomorrow and shared a new video trailer on the title today.

To quote: The Freelance Police and Telltale Games can't stay away from the PlayStation Network for long!

After gracing the PSN in last year's Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, the mostly loveable canine and rabbit-thingy duo returns on October 18th (woah, that's tomorrow) in another one of their off-the-wall adventures, Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space!

Always up to their neck fur in trouble as they get to the bottom of their cases, Sam & Max come face-to-face with some of the deadliest foes they've ever encountered, including Santa Claus, an emo vampire, and Satan himself. Well, two out of three isn't bad, right?

Sam & Max must survive some of the most exotic locales known to man and animal alike (the game is called Beyond Time and Space, remember?) if they're going to get themselves out of this somewhat death-defying adventure.

Of course, the PS3 version of Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space is chock-full of the Trophies that are coveted dearly by all, so your thorough...

172w ago - MonkeyPaw Games Marketing Manager Ray Almeda has unveiled the video trailer today for Arcade Hits: Shienryu which is hitting PlayStation Network.

To quote: Well, the Import Section is now up and running. We hope you've had a taste and are looking for more Japanese fun.

Our next game from the land of the rising yen is Arcade Hits: Shienryu. Shooter fans will have a blast with this emphatic display of early bullet hell.

The game happens to be one of our office favorites so I can tell you that you'll be satisfied and rewarded by such shooting splendor.

Arcade Hits: Shienryu is the kind of shooter that exemplified the class of firepower that came out of the great shoot'em-up era in Japan.

If your eyes could bleed they would after an intense hour with Shienryu. Sure, there were bigger hits in the era, but Shienryu is a standout for its outstanding attention to detail and silky-smooth controls.

Allow yourself to immerse in the cockpit of your tactical fighter and watch the full trajectory of shrapnel after you blast it into a thousand pieces.

MonkeyPaw will continue to bring you closer to your Japanese gaming roots. We want to deliver all those lost classics...

Video: Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken Hits PSN on October 18th

50°
173w ago - Today Producer/Studio Head Sian Yue Tan has confirmed alongside sharing a video trailer that Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken will be hitting PSN on October 18, 2011.

To quote: With our first post in July, we introduced you to our upcoming title Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, and for our second post in September, we touched a bit on the genesis and character design of the Rocketbirds. In this third post, we wanted to talk a bit about the cutscenes and music videos we created for the game.

But first, here is the preview trailer of the game!

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken takes you on a cinematic platform adventure through Albatropolis, as you hunt down the Penguin's corrupt leader, Putzki. Along the way you'll have to kill many penguins, solve puzzles, incite revolution, and maybe pilot a few jetpacks.

Originally, for Rocketbirds: Revolution! (the Independent Games Festival 2010 triple finalist browser game) we created the first opening sequence ('Robot' music video) as a way to keep people interested while the first game assets were being streamed to people's computers.

When we'd completed it, it worked well to bridge the waiting time (it's a lot more entertaining than watching a download status bar), but...

Dark Souls Hits PlayStation 3 Today, Meet Its Darkest Demons

50°
173w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has revealed some of the darkest demons in Dark Souls, which will officially be hitting the PlayStation 3 entertainment system today!

To quote: "All the monsters I design, from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls, are beautiful to me no matter how gruesome their appearance."

Dark Souls Director Hidetaka Miyazaki shared this bit of insight with me earlier this year in an interview and the quote has bounced through my brain for more than six months.

Since then, I've been wanting to get a closer look at the game's stunning creature designs, all of which are plucked from the further reaches of Miyazaki's fevered imagination.

Luckily, today's the day. For the viewing pleasure of readers, From Software and Namco Bandai have collected a host of rare concept artwork accompanied by design notes from Miyazaki himself. Miyazaki also wanted to pass along a greeting just for readers:

"I am hoping all of you experience meaningful deaths many times in the game. I know that the game is challenging, but I want you to keep trying to overcome any difficulty you face in the game. And please feel a great sense of achievement when overcoming a difficulty!"

Read on for the full gallery. If you do pick up Dark Souls, keep...
