158w ago - Today Andy Stewart of the Playstation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN Game Store updates, as follows:

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

The star of the update this week is of course a large selection of [Register or Login to view links] related videos for all the hotly anticipated titles being shown - you'll find those in their own section as usual.

For downloadable titles this week, several retail games get the digital download treatment, including Dead Space and Far Cry - but if you're into fast-paced little numbers, you're going to adore Cubixx HD - arcade puzzle action, where the simple goal is to cut away enough of the cube to move to the next level.

This title supports split-screen local multiplayer, has loads of different game modes and looks simply fantastic - if you're a fan of the genre you should definitely give it a go and even if you're not I urge you to try the demo. Plus users get 20% off the asking price too, along with a free theme to download.

There's a also a few more minis this week, including a Fighting Fantasy adventure, a selection of DLC for LBP2, InFamous 2 and more, and a selection of themes.

Speaking of themes there are a few...

Videos: Cubixx HD Launches on EU PlayStation Store Tomorrow

159w ago - Laughing Jackal Community Manager Ross Brierley has announced today that Cubixx HD launches on the European PlayStation Store tomorrow and shared some video footage below as well.

To quote: Laughing Jackal are the developer of classic PSN minis such as Duael Invaders, Ace Armstrong vs. the Alien Scumbags, Vibes, the forthcoming OMG-Z and, of course, Cubixx.

Today I'm here to talk to you about [Register or Login to view links] the sequel to Cubixx coming soon exclusively to PlayStation 3.

Cubixx HD is a modern-day take on classic area capture games such as Qix, but with an awesome twist: Instead of a 2D game field, Cubixx HD expands this addictive game concept across all six sides of a cube. That's six times the danger and six times the fun.

Following on from the success of Cubixx we've added more; lots more, in fact.  Cubixx HD now features 50 levels of Arcade action playable in both single player and 7 player Co-Op.  All these levels are also playable in Time Attack, Score Attack and Line Attack modes, with up to 7 players competing at once and featuring over 150 online leaderboards.

That's not all! There are also 50 super-addictive Challenges, plus...

Sony Confirms NTSC-J and NTSC-U PSOne Classics Hitting EU PSN

250°
161w ago - Today SCEE's Ross McGrath of the Sony PlayStation Store Team has confirmed that NTSC-J and NTSC-U PSOne Classics are being prepared to hit the European PSN Store.

To quote: I am very pleased to confirm that US and Japanese PSone emulations are being prepared for release on the SCEE PlayStation Stores.

While I cannot yet confirm dates or any of the titles in process at this time, there are a few that are already in process and you will start to see them publishing in the future.

What does this mean for you, the consumers?

Here are the key points:

• Publishers who own the rights to release PSone titles that were previously only available in the US and/or Japan will now be able to apply to have them released on the SCEE PlayStation Stores (providing they are rated by the appropriate ratings boards for each territory).

• All titles will be published 'as is', with either English or Japanese language game content where available.

• All titles will run at 60 Hz and you will need a 60 Hz capable display to play them properly.

This also means that if a PAL version of a title has been unable to pass QA in SCEE, but the NTSC version is already available on the PlayStation Store in SCEA or SCEJ, we can look at publishing...
