228w ago - This seems like intresting stuff going on.. LEU-Loader OtherOS v1.0 for PlayStation 3 Linux.
To quote, roughly translated: Some time ago we started this project, known as LEU (Launcher Emulators for USB), as you know I care for every detail to make it pleasant and comfortable to use.
To start LEU Linux as it is you need a BootLoader.. usually used in terminal mode type which makes text more compliacado use.
In our case this is, graphics adapters to the environment we want to LEU to reach wider audience and that people lose that fear of the word Linux.
BootLoader has very interesting things like:
• Power-Track Initiative SixAxis
• Recognizes LEUs icon which will be installed (USB)
• Recognizes disc, marking an installation disk icon
• Recognizes HDD with Linux installation
• And finally we have a very cool key indicators from the new XMB that is created from the code Petitboot.
The video that shows how the LEU Loader is being used in conjunction with RAW iSO.
To quote: The Homebrew Channel (HBC) was designed to be used with the Homebrew SDK aka devkitPro. So any files you compile with devkitPro should load OK via the HBC.
If you try to load a file that was compiled with the Nintendo SDK however you will get an error that "This is not a valid Wii application". This is because the Homebrew Channel retrieves the load addresses for each ELF program segment from the Physical Address field, and in Nintendo SDK files this field is set to zero.
Hopefully the HBC guys will fix this in the next release, making the HBC more compatible. In the meantime you can use this little tool I made to patch your ELF file. It copies the values from the Virtual Address field into the Physical Address field for each program segment in your ELF file.
234w ago - Today SCEA Santa Monica Producer Tsubasa Inaba has revealed on the PlayStation Blog that the Echochrome PS3 patch v1.02 will arrive on June 18, 2009. He also shared the trailer for the upcoming Echochrono PSP title.
To quote: I'm excited to announce a new update, coming June 18, for my favorite PSN puzzle game – echochrome! The update is for the PS3 version (The game was released last year for both PS3 and PSP.
Both versions are available now for $9.99 each). We've added a ton of new features to the game since last year's launch, including Trophies.
Here is a quick run down on the new features being added as of June 18.
Cloud: This is a game mode that allows players to upload levels they have created, and also download levels that others have posted.
We have added a simple search function to go with it. For example, if you find someone whose works you like, you can search for their levels by ID.
Our Picks: For those of you who do not want to search through the sea of user-generated content, we have weekly updates of 8 recommended levels for you to enjoy.
YouTube Uploader/PlayStation EYE support: Another great feature update is the...
235w ago - According to both Tawkn (linked above) as well as users on the GameSpot Forums, the Resident Evil 5 Patch 1.03 is now available and apparently it has removed gamesave protection so users can back them up.
To quote: Fire up Resident Evil 5 and you will be prompted to download the 38MB v1.03 patch. But what has changed?
Well, the only thing I noticed so far is that saved game data is no longer copy-protected! This is a huge, huge plus in my eyes.
Its extremely useful to me. Like I said I have two PS3's and I didnt feel like beating the game all over again just so I could play it in the other room. Why copy protect something that just hinders the people who bought it?
237w ago - Recently PSP homebrew developers Xenogears and Becus25 have released a Custom Firmware Enabler.
This program will enable the functions of M33 CFW using ChickHen, except for Recovery and Pops.
Since installation is not permanent, the application must be run again after reboot in order to enable M33 functions. It also works with TA-088v3 motherboards, but sadly it doesn't support the PSP 3000 yet.
