30w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has posted up a video today showcasing Assassin's Creed III Liberation's touch controls in action on PlayStation Vita below.
To quote: A bit of advice for Assassin's Creed fans: get some sleep this weekend. Come Tuesday, you'll get to immerse yourself in the Revolutionary mythology of Assassin's Creed III both at home and on the go.
If you've been keeping up with our coverage of Aveline de Grandpre's portable adventure, you're likely already aware of Assassin's Creed III Liberation's open-world gameplay, its crossover with the PS3's Assassin's Creed III, and it's PS Vita-specific features.
But showing is better than telling, so have a look at some of Liberation's (optional) touch controls in action, as AC3L Writer Richard Farreese tells us how the team adapted the series' new control scheme to PS Vita. Spoiler: they didn't have to change much.
You're forgiven for gawking at that Crystal White PS Vita. I haven't washed my hands since we recorded that footage. Assassin's Creed III Liberation arrives this Tuesday alongside Assassin's Creed III, both in stores and via PlayStation Network.
30w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has shared an interview today discussing Need For Speed Most Wanted, which offers a glimpse under the PS Vita version's hood.
To quote: Next week sees the keenly anticipated release of Need for Speed Most Wanted, the latest release from Criterion Games - the legendary UK racing specialist behind the Burnout series and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, the phenomenal 2010 entry in EA's long-running street racing franchise.
That the PlayStation 3 version is very, very good should come as no surprise, but somewhat more unexpected is the amount of care the studio has lavished on replicating the experience on PlayStation Vita. Producer Matt Webster and his team have squeezed almost the entire experience onto the handheld, and even found room for a little bit of extra content exclusive to the system.
We sat down with Matt earlier this week to find out exactly how Criterion has pulled it off.
PlayStation.Blog: What was your goal when you first started developing the PS Vita version of Most Wanted?
Matt Webster, Producer at Criterion Games: It was to make the same game - that was the goal.
As much as we possibly could, we wanted to deliver all the great things about the console...
30w ago - D3Publisher Assistant Producer Miki Takahashi has announced today that new features are invading Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable on the PS Vita handheld console!
To quote: The Earth Defense Force is back, and I'm here to tell you what to expect when it lands on PS Vita this winter! Earth Defense Force 2017 ("EDF3" in Japan) launched in 2007 as a third-person shooter developed by Sandlot and published by D3Publisher.
In Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for PS Vita, the core of the game (the 3D arcade action and the system features) remain the same as in EDF2017, but by adding many additional features the game feels completely transformed and remastered.
These additions include an online co-op mode, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing.
The story is set in the year 2017. The Ravagers - a vile alien race - are coming to Earth, and they have one thing on their minds: the complete destruction of mankind!
In Earth Defense Force 2017, you are Earth's last line of defense. You'll be dropped into the shoes of a member of the Earth Defense Force. Your mission: stop the Ravagers from conquering Earth.
With the added online play, you can now play a co-op game with up to four players on your PS Vita, without giving...
30w ago - Below is a video tutorial from GameBlamer on YouTube demonstrating how to dump PS Vita games via the recently released PS3 CFW 4.21.
It has not been confirmed yet and I am not the uploader, I just found it randomly so consider it a proof-of-concept if it ends up working or an 'entertainment purposes only' video if not.
The video is partly in English and part in German, and although it can be followed if anyone wishes to translate the German parts to English or make a new video let us know and we will update this article with it... those interested can check it out below!

Have you ever worried about Sony's financial situation, and what would happen to your hard earned Cash if they were to close? I certainly have.
For a long while now Sony have not been in the best financial state and could possibly face bankruptcy in the future. If this were to happen, then...
31w ago - Criterion Games Community Manager Jeremy Chubb has shared details today alongside some video footage on Need for Speed Most Wanted for the PS3 and PS Vita consoles.
To quote: We've been working hard on Need for Speed Most Wanted, our second Need for Speed game after 2011's Hot Pursuit.
I'm pleased to tell you that we've just put the finishing touches on the game, and we're winding up the online servers to take a beating from you guys come launch day - October 30th.
It's a pretty exciting time for PlayStation fans, and we're really excited to be able to talk not just about the PS3 game, but also our first for PS Vita. If you don't know anything about Most Wanted, here's the deal.
The original Most Wanted was our favorite Need for Speed game. We loved the epic cop chases, hot cars, and most of all that unbeatable sensation of fast, reckless driving while on the run from the law.
So after finishing Hot Pursuit, we set out to create a game that brought you all these great elements, but fresh for 2012 and with a little Criterion DNA running through it. That means it had to be about online, friends and competition, with a Most Wanted twist.
