They Do Not Die 2 v0.3 PS3 Homebrew Game Update Arrives

161w ago - This weekend PlayStation 3 developer ThatOtherDev has updated his homebrew game They Do Not Die 2 to v0.3 for PS3 Custom Firmware and JailBreak users.

To quote: Here is another updated version of They Do Not Die. This new update Most notably features destructible walls and the ability to save the game state. Game saves are fairly large and consequently rather slow to create and load but that will improve over time.

I’m still undecided about what the subtitle should be so keep posting any ideas you have. Right now I’m leaning towards going with Collateral Damage (suggested by Griffunt) or Life After Death (suggested by Annelies)

On a less obviously related subject does anybody know how to go about measuring the passage of time with millisecond precision (or near enough to it for it to be usable when calculating the frame rate) when developing for PS3 with PSL1GHT?

What has changed:

  • You can save the game at any time and obviously also load that save.
  • The on screen text now scales so it no longer fills an overly large portion of the screen at low resolution.
  • In addition to your gun you now have a rocket launcher.

161w ago - Today Andy Stewart of the Playstation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN Game Store updates, as follows:

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

The star of the update this week is of course a large selection of [Register or Login to view links] related videos for all the hotly anticipated titles being shown - you'll find those in their own section as usual.

For downloadable titles this week, several retail games get the digital download treatment, including Dead Space and Far Cry - but if you're into fast-paced little numbers, you're going to adore Cubixx HD - arcade puzzle action, where the simple goal is to cut away enough of the cube to move to the next level.

This title supports split-screen local multiplayer, has loads of different game modes and looks simply fantastic - if you're a fan of the genre you should definitely give it a go and even if you're not I urge you to try the demo. Plus users get 20% off the asking price too, along with a free theme to download.

There's a also a few more minis this week, including a Fighting Fantasy adventure, a selection of DLC for LBP2, InFamous 2 and more, and a selection of themes.

Speaking of themes there are a few...

To quote: Content galore this week ranging from Digital Blu-rays right through to new minis and for once, there's too much for me to actually talk about all of it!

Ubisoft have put a few bits and pieces on sale for you for one week only, so take a look at those - as well as releasing the 10/10 Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood onto the store and available digitally for the first time.

Don't forget that as part of Plus, if you buy Assassin's Creed Brotherhood you get two of the avatars releasing today for free. There are also Plus deals on AC and ACII as well, so be sure to check those out. Square-Enix have also reduced the price of a selection of PSone Classics - have a look at the list below.

What else is new? Well, Back to the Future is finally completed this week with the release of the fifth and final episode. 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures 2 makes an appearance again this week and this time it's here to stay - you can also get the DLC at the same time if you'd like.

164w ago - Today Ross McGrath of SCEE's PlayStation Store Team has revealed this weeks European PSN updates, as follows:

A few new PS3 titles for you this week - leading the charge is the hotly anticipated Section 8: Prejudice, fresh from a tour of duty on the other platform and raring to go on PSN.

And what's more, for this week only you'll be able to purchase Section 8: Prejudice with both of its DLC packs included at no extra cost - grab this deal while you can as it'll be gone before you know it.

Plus members get a little something extra too, as James previously mentioned, not only will Plus consumers get an exclusive in-game unlock but the first 1000 Plus members who are opted in for email who buy the game will get a free copy of the original Section 8!

What else this week? You can take your pick between a relaxing few holes on the minigolf course or defending your neighbourhood from bloodthirsty zombies - I appreciate that's not an easy decision.

Four PSP titles also take the plunge and move to Essentials today, so it's a great time to grab a bargain on one of these Disney games - we've also permanently reduced the price of the DLC for both Hannah Montana and Toy Story 3.

The LA Noire avatars make an appearance this week too, alongside...
