Rumor: PSN Cards to Come to Europe in October

350°
274w ago - Several sites are reporting a rumor today that PSN Cards will finally be coming to Europe on October 1, 2009.

To quote: October 1st will be an important day for Sony. With the launch of the PSP Go and the much-awaited Gran Turismo PSP already confirmed for that day, now it's been reported that the same day what European PSN users have been clamoring for years will be finally released: PSN pre-paid cards.

While we're labeling this as rumor since it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, the timing of release makes it seem very likely, given that the download-only PSP Go launches on the same day, it makes sense for pre-paid cards to accompany it.

We'll keep you informed when Sony finally confirms the rumor.

Pachter: PS3 Price Cut by October if Console Sales Keep Crashing

276w ago - Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that Sony will cut PS3's price before October 1, 2009 if US hardware sales continue to slide.

Speaking in a note today, Pachter estimated that US Wii, 360 and PS3 sales will show a year-on-year decline of 43 percent for June.

To quote: "We think that the console manufacturers will therefore be forced to consider a price cut before year-end, with Sony cutting the PS3's price by October 1," he said.

"Further, we do not think that Nintendo's hardware forecast figures are achievable without a price cut, and we expect one around the same time as the PS3 price cut.

"It is likely both manufacturers will cut by $50, with Sony making up any lack of increased demand with a software bundle.

"We expect Microsoft to follow suit, giving us confidence that US software sales will grow later in the year, notwithstanding negative sales in the early part of the year."

Pachter predicted sales of 350,000 Wii, 225,000 Xbox 360 and 165,000 PS3 consoles in June today. The June NPD releases this Thursday.

277w ago - Today Dutch site PS3Clan.nl (linked above) reportedly caught a glimpse of a release list that was not meant to be seen.

As a result, they have announced the Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 release date as October 22, 2009.

In addition to PlayStation 3, Konami currently has the title under development for PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and Mobile phone.

To quote, roughly translated: Today we got a release under our eyes printed list (a list that is not intended for our eyes) with designating a finger of the person who showed us the list, pointed to the release date of PES 2010.

Funny enough was not on the same list of FIFA 10 release date.

PES 2010, on October 22, 2009 it should be in the shops.
