274w ago - SCEA's Manager of Software Product Marketing Scott McCarthy has posted the fourth video installment of their behind-the-scenes look on the Making Of MotorStorm Arctic Edge for PSP today.

To quote: MotorStorm Arctic Edge is finally here for the PSP and we have the 4th and final iteration of the "Making Of" video series to share with you.

The teams at Bigbig and Evolution have really enjoyed your comments to the video series to date and are really looking forward to you getting your hands on the game.

If you have been watching the series, you know that a lot of time and effort went into making Arctic Edge a title that brings the best of the MotorStorm brand to the PSP and PSPgo.





For part four, Bigbig Studios unveils a bit about the creative inspiration and artistic differences that make Arctic Edge unique, yet maintain all the things you already love about MotorStorm.

They also talk about the challenges taking a game as big and as beautiful as MotorStorm and bringing it to the PSP in a way that is uncompromising to fun and graphic quality you are expecting from a MotorStorm title.

SCEA Rep: UMD Transfer Service Scrapped for PSP Go Owners

274w ago - At TGS 2009 Sony announced that PSP owners will not be able to transfer the UMD games they currently own to the upcoming PSP Go system.

The news contradicts promises made earlier this year at E3 2009 in Los Angeles, where Sony soothed consumer concerns with promises of an exchange service for gamers who wanted to play their PSP games on a new PSP Go.

A Sony rep told Kotaku at the time they were "looking into programs for owners who have previously purchased UMD titles and want to exchange them for digital versions," and given our positive impressions of the Go's technical specs a conversion program seemed feasible.

To quote: "We were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program at this time," a SCEA rep told [Register or Login to view links] this morning.

Instead Sony is offering early adopters an opportunity to claim three free games, but that offer is only valid in Europe. Consumers who take advantage of the PSP Go North American launch in a few days will receive nothing.

"We have a dual platform strategy," an SCEA rep explained...

For this week's entry, the team at [Register or Login to view links] provides details as to the wild vehicles players will get to drive in the game, including two new snow-specific machines.

Of course with vehicles of the same type, what good is having the same looking vehicle as everyone else? The team also shows the wide variety of customization options available for every type of vehicle from parts, to accessories, to stickers.

To quote: We're over two weeks away from the release of MotorStorm Arctic Edge for the PSP, but have already kicked off the MotorStorm festival!

Between now and launch date (September 29), we will be unveiling brand new trailers that will allow you to go behind-the-scenes with my colleagues at Bigbig Studios where they show you exactly how MotorStorm Arctic Edge for the PSP was born, complete with never-before-seen footage from the game, as well as in-depth interviews from Bigbig Studios.
