235w ago - Senior VP of EA Games Europe Patrick Suderland described the Xbox 360 as "Maxed out", in comparison to the PS3.
This comment came in tow of Sony's and Microsoft's presentations at the recently-concluded E3 2009 Expo.
That's not to say he meant it in a bad way, however, to quote:
I like the Natal. That's cool. It's an interesting device, so I'm truly impressed by Xbox. It's my personal favorite console... I think Microsoft is on a roll right now. They're doing really well. If I was Sony, I would have a headache, to be honest.
He did say too, however, that Sony does have a lot of good games this year. "If you go to their booth, there's a very consistent, high-quality product line-up and that will help them." Now this is where the "maxed out" statement comes out.
I do think that we'll see developers inside the organization getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we're getting more power out of PS3 right now... I think that we've maxed out the 360 but we haven't maxed out the PS3.
236w ago - The CEO of Crytek Cevat Yerli has indicated that Crysis 2 is pretty much maxing out the PS3 console.
He noted a performance analysis that showed the occupation of all the CPUs, the Cell and GPUs were at the limit... adding that there really isn't much more you can do!
To quote: Talking in the wake of the announcement that EA would be publishing Crysis 2, Yerli said that "The interesting thing is we did run a performance analysis on the PS3 devkit, and you know the funny thing is the occupation on all the CPUs, the Cell and the GPUs, is pretty much - the needle is at the limit."
Here, he was implying that Crysis 2, running on the company's new CryEngine 3 would almost max out the PS3's abilities. "There's not much more you can do," he added, "and frankly the breakthrough was very recent, and otherwise we would've had a compromised strategy on the consoles, which we don't have now.
236w ago - It was confirmed by Hideo Kojima himself, Metal Gear Solid will now be on the Xbox 360 and the next game will be called Metal Gear Solid: Rising. It will revolve around Raiden.

MGS 2's Raiden will be the star this time. No Snake.
"The Metal Gear Solid series is one of the most highly acclaimed video game franchises of all time," said Anthony Crouts, vice president of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment.
"With Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the Xbox 360 community will finally get a chance to enjoy the action and excitement that this popular franchise is known to offer."
So, all those rumors of a Metal Gear coming to Xbox 360 were true.
