MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Demo Arrives at PSN on October 16, 2008

Since Day 1, I knew it wasn't going to be easy to put a soundtrack together that would have the right vibe for a festival of racing like MotorStorm. You see, Music is one of those things that no one is ever "wrong" about. Everyone has an opinion, and everyone knows best, but no one is ever wrong!

After countless discussions with various people involved in creating the Festival Infrastructure around the MotorStorm racing events, my challenge was set: I needed to put together a lineup that not only fit with a racing game, but one which could feasibly be the Festival line up to end all Festival line ups.

It had to be Anarchic, Aggressive and Raucous. That was the easy part. The tough part was making sure that the soundtrack became as much a signature of MotorStorm as the racing itself was.





With Pacific Rift, I faced the same challenge, but this time, it had to go one better. Up to eleven, if you like. First things first, considering this time around we were allowing the player to play their own music while racing: How do we give the player something that, no matter which way it's looked at, is valuable? SCEJ: PSP Firmware 5.0 on October 15, PS Store for PSP Screens

310w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has confirmed that the PS Store for PSP will officially launch on October 15, 2008 coinciding with PSP Firmware Update 5.0.

The update will add an XMB icon which will allow users to access the PlayStation Store directly from their PSP consoles. Sony will then begin offering downloadable UMD-based titles on the same day as their retail release.

In related news, IGN has made available the first PlayStation Store for PSP screens along with a description on how you use the store.

To quote: Users will need to connect directly to PlayStation Network from PSP via Wi-Fi connection, and then register for a PlayStation Network account to access the PlayStation Store on the XMBTM (XrossMediaBar) of PSP. PlayStation Network account for PS3/ PC can also be used.

Rumor: PS3 Firmware 2.50 to Arrive between October 13th to 19th

310w ago - TheSixthAxis (linked above) is reporting that the PS3 Firmware v2.50 update will be released sometime in the week, between the 13th and 19th of October.

To quote:

Our friends over at eLhabib have just let us know that the next PS3 Firmware update will be between the 13th and the 19th of October.

Basically, at some point next week. There should also be another PSP update around the same time.
