Rumor: PlayStation 4 (PS4) Orbis Processing Specs Uncovered

1150°
130w ago - Previously we covered rumors that AMD is building the PlayStation 4 graphics tech, Sony may ditch the Cell processor and the PS4 being codenamed Orbis, and now IGN reports that the next-generation system will sport AMD's A8-3850 APU and HD 7670 GPU.

To quote via IGN.com (linked above): The PlayStation 4, reportedly codenamed Orbis, may utilize custom chips based on AMD's A8-3850 APU and Radeon HD 7670 GPU, sources have told IGN, offering the combined performance of both integrated and discrete graphics processors.

According to the [Register or Login to view links], the A8-3850 packs a quad-core 2.9GHz processor with an integrated graphics chip. The APU will work in tandem with the system's dedicated GPU, the HD 7670, a DirectX 11-enabled card clocked to 1GHz with up to 1GB of dedicated VRAM.

The HD 7670 is a rebranded version of last year's HD 6670, sporting identical...

VooFoo Studios Shares The Latest News on Hustle Kings for PSN

50°
158w ago - VooFoo Studios Art Director John Kearney has shared the latest news today on Hustle Kings for PlayStation Network.

To quote: Just over 18 months ago, Hustle Kings was released on PSN. Since launch, 1.4 million online games have been played with over 14.8 million very shiny balls potted (imagine those numbers if we could include offline games)!

During that time, we have been busy developing Hustle Kings for PlayStation Vita, in addition to providing regular updates and DLC for the PS3 version.

A thriving community helped guide our direction and allowed us to make significant improvements. We created the hugely popular snooker add-on, free crazy tables, new trick shots, ball-sets, cues and avatars. We also provided support for Move and stereoscopic 3D.

As a massive fan of late night games, it's a privilege for me to confirm the inclusion of Hustle Kings in the upcoming PS3 title 'After Hours Athletes'. Created in association with PUMA Social, we recognise that the After Hours Athletes fuel themselves on late night falafel rather than energy drinks and half time oranges.

If that isn't enough to satisfy your hustle needs, you'll be pleased to know that Hustle Kings will be available for Vita at launch. Visually, it's virtually identical to the PS3 version...

850°
183w ago - Just a quick heads-up to everyone, starting this weekend (not an April 1st joke) we will begin upgrading the vB3 Forums we currently use to [Register or Login to view links], and through the transition there will be some scheduled downtime while our server cat works his magic!

Once the vB4 upgrade itself is complete, we will undergo another few weeks of work with some minor downtime while porting the remaining modules to vB4, followed by implementing some of your 2011 suggestions to our site. If you have any feel free to contribute them to the thread and we will do our best to make it happen.

Additionally, we are currently seeking a new site logo- if you are a graphic artist and would like to share some design concepts check out this ongoing thread... if we end up selecting one posted we will send the artist a $100 PayPal gift to express our appreciation.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their PS3 News site suggestions and logo designs to date, and we look forward to checking out new ones as time permits!

PlayStation 3 Trophy News Direct from Leipzig

300°
319w ago - Good evening everyone, I hope everyone's week has been full of joy... well, let us put a little more joy in your life.

As some of you know, a few of us are attending the Leipzig Games Convention this week and including some developer walkthroughs with various publishers, and we managed to ask the age old question to keep all you Trophy hunters happy:

Will your title support Trophies?

And here is the general consensus... I'll warn you now though, the day started badly for Sony's Trophy system, but certainly got better throughout the day.

- Prince of Persia - No Trophy support
- HAWX - Trophy support confirmed
- Shaun White's Snowboard - Trophy support confirmed
- Borderlands - Trophy support confirmed
- Spider Man: Web of Shadows - Probably not because it was too late in the development stage to add them in.
- Far Cry 2 - Trophy support confirmed
- EndWar - Trophy support confirmed
- Quantum of Solace - Trophy support confirmed
- Call of Duty: World at War - Trophy support confirmed
- Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon - Trophy support confirmed

So there you have it, as the holiday period approaches, more and more titles get Trophy support. Unfortunately the impressive looking Prince of Persia will not, but surely...
