273w ago - Today Sony's Director of Hardware Marketing John Koller has shared an "It's GO Time" video unveiling that the PSPgo will be available on October 1st, 2009.

To quote: October 1st is nearly here and we're extremely excited to have you experience the PSPgo first hand very soon.

As most of you already know, the PSPgo is the smallest and mightiest PSP system yet and features 16GB of internal memory, as well as expandable storage to handle multiple applications - games, videos, photos, music, Internet and more.

Designed specifically for those who don't want to carry around physical discs, PSPgo offers the same rich and immersive gaming and entertainment experience as the PSP-3000 system, but in a smaller form-factor with sliding display panel.

With over 225 games and thousands of pieces of digital content available (with more games and movies launching every week), you'll see why the PSPgo is, without a doubt, the best digital portable experience.

We've seen a tremendous response to the "It Only Does Everything" campaign for the PS3 and with the launch of PSPgo just days away, we wanted to give you a first look at a new dedicated marketing campaign focusing on the PSPgo system.

We've created a robust TV, print and digital campaign to...

Toshiba is Set to Detail Its Cell-based TV in Early October

400°
274w ago - According to PCWorld (linked above), Toshiba will soon unveil its first television based on the Cell processor, the same multimedia chip that sits at the heart of the PlayStation 3 games console.

Toshiba has been showing prototypes of the television and Cell technology for the last couple of years and its unveiling on Oct. 5 will come just before its first public showing at the upcoming Ceatec electronics show.

While a launch date has not yet been announced, the timing of the unveiling suggests it should be on sale in Japan before the end of this year.

To quote: "The Cell chip was developed by Toshiba, IBM and Sony and each chip contains a single Power PC core and eight co-processors. Together the chips make heavy-duty processing of video a breeze.

During previous demonstrations of Cell TV prototypes, Toshiba has put the chip to use providing real-time upscaling of standard definition to a quality closer to that of high definition.

It has also been shown streaming multiple chapters from a recorded TV show to make navigating to a desired part of a program easy. It's similar to the multiscreen menus on some DVDs.

But for all the neat tricks it can do with video there's one thing it almost certainly won't do: run PlayStation 3 games. Toshiba has said several...

Video: Critter Crunch Hits PS3 via PSN on October 8 for $6.99

50°
274w ago - Capy's Creative Director Kris Piotrowski has priced and dated Critter Crunch today, which is heading to PSN on October 8, 2009 for $6.99.

To quote: Kris from [Register or Login to view links] here, signing in just to drop a quick little announcement bomb on all y'all brains:

Just in case you didn't actually watch on the video above, here's what you missed:

CRITTER CRUNCH IS COMING TO A NORTH AMERICAN PLAYSTATION 3 NEAR YOU ON OCTOBER 8TH, AKA "THE DAY OF THE CRUNCH" AKA "CRITTER HOUR" AKA "BIGGS' BIG BBQ BASH."

And it's $6.99. SIX DOLLARS AND NINETY-NINE CENTS.

Why? Because we love you, and because we care. And it let us do that animated switcharoo-thing with the "9″ transforming into the "6″ after Biggs peels the price, which we think worked out really well.

Anyway, let me break it down for you in equation form:

(Biggs + Smalls + Critter Crunch) x (October 8th (You - 6.99)) = AWESOME FUN PUZZLE PARTY.

Stay tuned for lots more info on the PlayStation Blog and on www.crittercrunch.com as we approach October 8th.
