309w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared news on a CES 2009: Killzone 2 interview with Hermen Hulst of developer Guerrilla Games today via PS Blog as follows:

By now, I'm sure you've seen some of the overwhelmingly positive impressions of Killzone 2 from the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show.

Shortly after his CES presentation, I tracked down Hermen Hulst, Managing Director and co-founder of KZ2 developer Guerrilla Games. We talked hit response physics, the unusual background of some of the KZ2 team, and that awesome video that was shown. Take a look:

Once again, Killzone 2 hits North American shores on February 27th. Preorder bonuses going on now.

Killzone 2 is a Powerful Contender for Best Game of 2009

250°
310w ago - Killzone 2 has been hyped up for years now. It has reached that state where a game is so hyped that it is nearly impossible for it to live up to the expectations.

Few games that have reached this state have lived up to the hype given to them. For most games, the hype is so high that they get buried under it (Too Human). So what will happen to Killzone 2?

Well if early talk about Killzone 2 is to be believed, it will exceed the mountainous hype it currently has.

Although it's not the most trustworthy source (not only because its name, but also because it had the first review), PlayStation: The Official Magazine gave Killzone 2 a perfect score in its February issue. The review said:

It's true that Killzone 2 is filled with moments that can handily be described as inspiring awe. Each scene is incredibly well detailed, from the gaps in jerry-rigged cover points letting you sneak in a killing headshot to scarred and scratched textures, the planet feels entirely believable... Without a doubt Killzone fans, action and shooter fans of any stripe will instantly tag this sequel as a powerful contender for best game of 2009.

Killzone 2 PS3 Bundle Coming to Europe, Packshot Available

100°
310w ago - It seems that Sony are all set to release an official PS3 bundle with the game and a PlayStation 3 console if this packshot (below) is to be believed.

To quote: The bundle is for Europe only right now with no current plans from either SCEA or SCEJ, but we'll hedge a bet that SCEA will do something similar and announce it just before launch.

No price has been given yet, but we'll assume it'll be out with the game on Februrary 25th in Europe and February 27th in the UK.

While a bundle seems to be the most obvious thing right now in the world, it's still a good move for the game as there are a lot of people who are buying a PlayStation 3 just to get Killzone 2.

Qore Episode 08 Features Killzone 2, F.E.A.R. 2, and Heavy Rain

50°
310w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi has introduced Qore Episode 08 via PlayStation Blog as follows:

The Qore team's put together a terrific show to kick off 2009 as Qore - Episode 08 hits the PlayStation Store tomorrow and features some of the hottest games appearing on PLAYSTATION 3 in the first part of the 2009.

Episode 08 begins with a trip to Amsterdam for an inside glimpse at one of the year's most anticipated titles, Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2. Make sure you watch this feature in HD. It looks awesome!

In Paris, Veronica Belmont searches for answers about Heavy Rain as she dons the mo-cap suit at Quantic Dream where they aspire to redefine "interactive cinema" with this film-noir adventure title.

Seattle is the next destination - a trip inspired by fear - F.E.A.R. 2, that is. Monolith was kind enough to share their scare as well as some tricks they use to create really spooky sound design.

From the San Francisco Bay Area, we dive into the fanatic Street Fighter game culture with a visit to a super-secret, underground Street Fighter Club and take a spin with the legendary DJ Qbert at his home studio where he conceived his Street Fighter II HD track.
