191w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

A quiet week this week since everyone who's anyone is at the big GC, but we've got a few nice bits and pieces for you to tide you over into September.

We have brand new demos of EA's NHL 11 and Ubisoft's H.A.W.X.2 for the PS3 crowd, along with a host of new add-ons for some great games.

As Richard already told you last week, Uncharted 2 gets a new skin pack, adding some more multiplayer characters for you to choose from (and don't forget the dynamic theme).

We've got two new characters for you to launch from your PAIN-a-pults, including Sergeant Jay and Jolly the Elf, (we figured August was the ideal time to give you a Christmas themed character). The final set of Marvel costumes releases this week as well, including Hulk, who I've heard is fond of smashing.

Six new PSP Essentials join the others on the Store, including a brand new digital release of Open Season, plus the latest LittleBigPlanet kits.

The real stars of the show this week are the oodles of Gamescom trailers we've got for you in glorious high-definition. All the big hitters are present and correct, with new trailers for KillZone 3, Motorstorm: Apocalypse,...

European PlayStation Game Store Update for August 4, 2010

193w ago - Today Ross McGrath of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN update, which comes in to land with a cargo hold full of goodies.

To quote: We'll start with the portable content because along with a PSP version of the recently released Groovin' Blocks, we've got a much requested title - Powered by Namco... it's Ridge Racer! A true classic and still one of the best driving experiences on PSP.

Remember last time you saw me I teased you about one of my favourite PSOne Classics coming to the store? Well brush off your fighting gloves and prepare to beat the heck out of a grown man wearing spandex trousers and a jaguar mask because it's here, it's Tekken 2 and, while it's not quite as fast-paced as more modern fighters, it's still brilliant.

For your TV's best friend we've got a good selection as well - Gundemonium Collection brings the 'bullet hell' genre screaming onto the PSN with three games in one: Gundemonium Recollection; GundeadliGne and Hitogata Happa.

If you feel like punishing your trigger fingers and generally view blinking as a waste of time, these are the games for you. Not convinced you need all three games? Well okay, we'll let you buy them separately too but don't say we never do anything for you.

194w ago - SCEE's PlayStation Store Manager Mike Kebby has posted up this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

An old friend returns (for the first time on PlayStation since 1995); Earthworm Jim HD is a remake of the old classic - which I may add was hard as nails, I never actually completed it - and features all the old favourite characters and levels, but now comes with added HD shininess, additional levels and a multiplayer mode.

I for one am I very excited, and will be doing my best to actually complete it this time!

We have two additions to the PSone roster on the store; Pong and Rayman 2: The Great Escape. I know it's been quite a wait to get Rayman 2 onto the store, and we're very pleased to say that it's now available, so grab your copy and help Rayman defend his world against the pirate invasion!

As for Pong, you know what to expect and it needs no further explanation really, other than this version (originally released in 1999) comes with 3D graphics and power-ups.

That's not all for PS3 though, we have the Madden NFL 11 demo for instance as well as much more; I refer you to the full list below for the full details.

As for your PSP needs this week there are two Harry Potter games available, a demo for Worms: Battle Islands, and...

European PlayStation Store PS3 and PSP Update for July 21, 2010

195w ago - Today Ross McGrath of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN update, as follows:

If you aren't a Plus subscriber then today's your first chance to get hold of the new Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days demo featuring a single player level casting you as everyone's favourite balding psychopath, Lynch, and the option to try out the 'Fragile Alliance' multiplayer mode.

The anthropomorphic animal detectives, Sam and Max, return in the fourth episode of The Devil's Playhouse: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls - remember you can still pick up the entitlement to the whole season from the Store and grab the previously released episodes too.

The second set of marvellous Marvel outfits fly, ride and 'thwip' their way into LittleBigPlanet and if you're still clamouring for more modifications and doo-dads for your ModNation Racers karts, the Sheriff Sirloin mod makes his debut. Can a cow drive a car without opposable thumbs? Apparently it can - hooves are no barrier to power sliding.

All you Pinball Wizards will be pleased to know that the guys from Zen Studios have added a new table to Zen Pinball. This one is completely out of this world. No really, it's set on Mars. Add to that the usual selection of Guitar Hero and Rock Band offerings, a...

198w ago - Today Ross McGrath of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted this weeks European PSN update, as follows:

For you handheld heroes we've got Everybody's Tennis for your PSP - cracking good fun just like its golf-based predecessors.

Also for those of you who are lucky enough to already have Toy Story 3 launch in your country, we've got the second round of DLC in the form of Woody's Round up for you to enjoy.

Throw in the latest Buzz! Quiz World pack, two new minis (also for PS3, as usual) and a free level kit for LittleBigPlanet and we're all set.

All you PS3 types have it pretty good this week too - we've got the LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 demo and if you missed Death Track: Resurrection or the criminally under-rated Aqua Panic HD when they released, you can now try these out for free too.

We have enormous amounts of DLC for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 for you budding golfers to browse, the Sacktue of Liberty returns for one week only and if you're not already a Fat Princess convert, we've slashed the price just in time for the launch of the Fat Roles expansion pack.

Yes, we're bringing those old Internet favourites, Pirates and Ninjas (and Giants) to the fray. So now you don't need to debate which is better, just get stuck...
