217w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team is here with this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

Alien Breed: Impact hits the EU PSN this week. An HD remake of the awesome Amiga classic, 'Alien Breed' (what do you mean, "What's an Amiga?") you and a friend can take on hordes of nasty space critters locally or online, in an effort to get from point A to point B for some reason or another.

Still, it's the journey that matters, not the destination, which is especially true when you have LASERS on the journey and are wading through piles of fresh alien corpses. Make sure you grab the free trial and try it for yourselves.

In other news, Sam and Max conclude their journey into the Devil's Playhouse this week - you can grab the final episode when we update, or if you're a Plus subscriber, grab yourself the whole Season.

The previously Plus-only demo of Ubisoft's R.U.S.E. hits for the rest of you today - command your army and deceive the enemy before nuking them into the stone age. If real-time strategy isn't your cup of tea, SEGA's Vanquish is on display for you to wrap your controllers around.

What better way to spend your time than blasting malevolent robots into a bajillion pieces from the comfort of an incredibly powerful...

218w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks Europeam PSN update today, as follows:

First up, we've got Shank, ultra-violent, ultra-stylish and ultra-fun. Carve your way to victory through a veritable army of shady looking villains, on your own or with a local co-op partner - Mike and I have given it a whirl and it comes highly recommended.

Don't believe us? Well, give it a bash with the free trial and see for yourself. We've also got the new Trial and Unlock version of Joe Danger for everyone who wasn't sure whether or not an awesome stunt-based motocross game where you can create your own stunt-runs and rack up massive points multipliers would be fun... yeah, it is.

All those without Plus can get their hands on PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap today and if you're an early adopter and have yourself one of them there swanky 3D televisualising boxes you can pick up MotorStorm 3D Rift - ten of the choicest tracks from Pacific Rift bundled together and brought to you in three glorious dimensions at a budget price.

Are you a MAG player? We're bringing you the MAG Persistent Beta client this week - but remember this will only run if you've got your MAG disc in the PS3. Keep your eye on the MAG forums, connect to the Beta server...

219w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

A quiet week this week since everyone who's anyone is at the big GC, but we've got a few nice bits and pieces for you to tide you over into September.

We have brand new demos of EA's NHL 11 and Ubisoft's H.A.W.X.2 for the PS3 crowd, along with a host of new add-ons for some great games.

As Richard already told you last week, Uncharted 2 gets a new skin pack, adding some more multiplayer characters for you to choose from (and don't forget the dynamic theme).

We've got two new characters for you to launch from your PAIN-a-pults, including Sergeant Jay and Jolly the Elf, (we figured August was the ideal time to give you a Christmas themed character). The final set of Marvel costumes releases this week as well, including Hulk, who I've heard is fond of smashing.

Six new PSP Essentials join the others on the Store, including a brand new digital release of Open Season, plus the latest LittleBigPlanet kits.

The real stars of the show this week are the oodles of Gamescom trailers we've got for you in glorious high-definition. All the big hitters are present and correct, with new trailers for KillZone 3, Motorstorm: Apocalypse,...

European PlayStation Game Store Update for August 4, 2010

221w ago - Today Ross McGrath of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN update, which comes in to land with a cargo hold full of goodies.

To quote: We'll start with the portable content because along with a PSP version of the recently released Groovin' Blocks, we've got a much requested title - Powered by Namco... it's Ridge Racer! A true classic and still one of the best driving experiences on PSP.

Remember last time you saw me I teased you about one of my favourite PSOne Classics coming to the store? Well brush off your fighting gloves and prepare to beat the heck out of a grown man wearing spandex trousers and a jaguar mask because it's here, it's Tekken 2 and, while it's not quite as fast-paced as more modern fighters, it's still brilliant.

For your TV's best friend we've got a good selection as well - Gundemonium Collection brings the 'bullet hell' genre screaming onto the PSN with three games in one: Gundemonium Recollection; GundeadliGne and Hitogata Happa.

If you feel like punishing your trigger fingers and generally view blinking as a waste of time, these are the games for you. Not convinced you need all three games? Well okay, we'll let you buy them separately too but don't say we never do anything for you.

222w ago - SCEE's PlayStation Store Manager Mike Kebby has posted up this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

An old friend returns (for the first time on PlayStation since 1995); Earthworm Jim HD is a remake of the old classic - which I may add was hard as nails, I never actually completed it - and features all the old favourite characters and levels, but now comes with added HD shininess, additional levels and a multiplayer mode.

I for one am I very excited, and will be doing my best to actually complete it this time!

We have two additions to the PSone roster on the store; Pong and Rayman 2: The Great Escape. I know it's been quite a wait to get Rayman 2 onto the store, and we're very pleased to say that it's now available, so grab your copy and help Rayman defend his world against the pirate invasion!

As for Pong, you know what to expect and it needs no further explanation really, other than this version (originally released in 1999) comes with 3D graphics and power-ups.

That's not all for PS3 though, we have the Madden NFL 11 demo for instance as well as much more; I refer you to the full list below for the full details.

As for your PSP needs this week there are two Harry Potter games available, a demo for Worms: Battle Islands, and...
