45w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Rey Gutierrez is here with this weeks new PS3, PS Vita and PSN releases below, as follows:

Survive an apocalypse on Earth in The Last of Us, a PlayStation 3-exclusive title by Naughty Dog. Here, you will find abandoned cities reclaimed by nature. Here is a population decimated by a modern plague. Here, there are only survivors killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on. Here, you find no hope.

Joel, a brutal survivor, and Ellie, a brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together if they hope to survive their journey across the US.
Enjoy this week The Drop!

The Last of Us (Available June 14th, 2013) - The Last of Us is a third-person Survival-Action game that utilizes choices in gameplay action to develop the game storyline, as well as the relationship between the two main characters, Joel and Ellie.

The game features a combination of combat, exploration, stealth and platforming game mechanics. Although Joel and Ellie are both residents of a post-apocalyptic world, they have had different experiences that affect the way they see the world around them, and feel about what they see and do. Joel had a life before the pandemic, while the world of the pandemic is all...

Blizzard Confirms Diablo III is Coming to PlayStation 3 September 3rd

100°
45w ago - Blizzard Entertainment Lead Designer Jason Bender confirmed today that Diablo III is coming to PlayStation 3 on September 3rd, 2013.

Below are the details, to quote: Greetings, PlayStation Nation! I'm excited to tell you that on September 3rd, PlayStation 3 gamers will join the eternal struggle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells.

That's right, Diablo III is coming to PS3, so you'll want to make sure your couch can seat four comfortably- when you're smiting hordes of vile demons, it's good to have someone watching your back. So yeah, you might need a bigger couch.

My team has been hard at work custom-tailoring the PS3 version of Diablo III. We're putting all the fast-paced action (and shiny loot) that Diablo is known for into the palms of your hands in a way that feels natural and fun to play using a controller.

With direct character control and an intuitive user interface, all your demon-slaying skills are just a button-press away, so you'll be able to dive right in and vanquish evil with reckless abandon.

With the game now just three months away, it's a good time to preorder your copy with your local retailer.

If you're looking for more information on the PlayStation 3 version of Diablo III,...

45w ago - Sony Social Media and Community Manager Roberto Kusabbi invites fans to Go behind-the-scenes at E3 2013 today with PlayStation on Instagram.

To quote: Hi readers - my name is Roberto and I'm new here. You may see me a bit more in the future as I manage PlayStation EU's social spaces, like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and any others we may add in future.

Fred has kindly let me come on here, say hi, and tell you about something we're working on for E3. Thanks Fred!

First of all, I wanted to let you all know that we have some big plans for our social spaces, so do stick with us. And if you currently follow us on Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else, please keep letting us know what you like and what you don't like - it really helps us improve.

We want to make our social spaces as engaging, fun and visual as possible, and we'll be testing all sorts of things in the future to ensure we pull that off.

With the annual E3 show just around the corner, we've been thinking about how we can best tell the story of the week to our fans. With it being such a visual event, we thought that one of the best ways we could do that is with Instagram.

Our American colleagues have an account up-and-running right now, and in future we'll be sharing the management of the...

Rain: The Story Behind 2013's Most Intriguing PSN Release

100°
45w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared details today on the Rain: the story behind 2013's most intriguing PSN release below.

To quote: Hopefully you found the time last week to take a look at the haunting new trailer for Rain - the new adventure game from Japan Studio heading to PlayStation 3 later this year.

It's shaping up to be one of the most intriguing PSN titles of the year, channeling the same sense of freewheeling creativity that made Journey, The Unfinished Swan and Tokyo Jungle such stand-out experiences.

The setup is simple - you play as a lone boy who finds himself alone in a mysterious rain-soaked city. The twist? He's completely invisible, except for the outline of the precipitation running off his body.

You'll guide him through this strange world as he goes in pursuit of a girl who's seemingly suffering the exact same predicament, while also trying to evade malevolent hostile forces.

I sat down with the game's producer Noriko Umemura when she was in London last week and dug a little deeper into this fascinating title.

PlayStation.Blog: Rain has one of the more unusual set-ups in recent memory. Where did the idea come from?

Noriko Umemura: When we gathered together, we had one thing in common - we wanted...
