Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Demo Back on the World Map!

350w ago - Christophe Balestra, the Co-President Naughty Dog has posted up an update to the Uncharted demo region lock situation. He once again states that the locking was a mistake but the issue has now been fixed and a new demo has been posted of which the whole entire world can play and enjoy.

To quote: Christophe Balestra, here, and I'm Co-President at Naughty Dog. I wanted to give a final update on the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo situation.

We're really sorry about what happened and didn't anticipate this at all. We just didn't know people from other territories could connect to the US PLAYSTATION Network Store and download demos ... now we do! We've been too busy working on the game to wrap our head's around the infrastructure of the PSN.

We absolutely did not plan the demo to be region locked. As soon as we figured out the problem existed, Sam Thompson called me and I jumped into my car, drove to the office and fixed it right away. It's an honest mistake and we didn't try to prevent anybody from enjoying the Uncharted demo. I feel even more sorry because most of the people who experienced the problem are in Europe and I'm European myself.

So again, we're really sorry about what happened and it wasn't done on purpose. The good news is it's now...

Uncharted Demo Confirmed For Next Thursday, US Release Date Bumped Up

351w ago - It's not often that we can jump up for joy, and say that we were right about something, but today, Amy Henning has confirmed our initial report regarding the Uncharted Demo on the Official Playstation blog. If you remember our previous story from last week, we unearthed a statement from Evan Wells, the co-president of Naughty Dog, stating that the demo for their upcoming game will probably hit PSN twelve days before the release of the game. We stood behind that report stating...

"As far as we are concerned, an Uncharted demo will be out 12 days before the American release...so in about 2 weeks! We can't wait to get on down with Nathan Drake (uh, perhaps the wrong choice of words) on November 8th (at least on the US Playstation Store). Exciting stuff aye?"

Amy Henning, Gaming Director at Naughty Dog, replied to a poster on the Official Playstation blog stating the official release date of the demo...

"Hi Kittonwy – the demo will go live on the PSN next Thursday, November 8th."

Well, as it turns out, the date we stated, wasn't just close, it was right on the money! The Uncharted demo will grace your Playstation 3 on November 8th.

In terms of details, all we know about the demo at this point, is that it will start with Drake and Elena parachuting out of...

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue demo, free download Oct. 24th

100°
354w ago - Big news from the world of Gran Turismo. With the Tokyo Motor Show only a week away, Sony is already prepping for a huge unveiling on October 24th. There are rumors around what Sony could possibly be revealing, but for now the more important news at hand is the fact that GT5 Prologue will be a downloadable demo as of October 20th. That's right, a free download. That explains why Gran Turismo HD was removed from the PlayStation store on September 30th.

Chances are that this is the same demo shown at Tokyo Game Show (TGS). Most of you who didn't attent TGS will be able to see calendar and other functions in the new Prologue. If that's the case and the Prologue demo is the same one shown at the video game show last month, this upcoming download should feature Alfa Romeos, Nissans, Ferarris and other vehicles, a total of 16, as well as three tracks, Suzuka, Fuji and Daytona.

The October 24th downloadable demo of Prologue should hold fans over long enough until the December 13th release of Gran Turismo Prologue. Pricing will be set at 4,980 Yen for the Blu-Ray disc and 4,500 as a straight download. If it's only four bucks, give us the disc; we don't want a download that costs as much as a full game.
