42w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator David Alonzo announced alongside a video trailer below that Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is out today on PS3.

To quote: Dood. This is your friend David from NIS America, and let me tell you, as a friend, that you might need to sit down for this. Breathe deep. Focus.

Process these words that are hitting your eyeballs and shooting through your synapses: the latest installment of the fan-favorite strategy RPG series, Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, is out today. Only for PS3, both in stores and as a Day 1 Digital download on PSN! Still breathing? Okay, good. Let's get into it, dood.

If you don't already know, Disgaea D2 follows Laharl, Etna, and Flonne in a whole new adventure. And I'll tell you what, they're looking pretty good in their fancy new HD sprite duds! With the characters looking sleeker, the gameplay's been updated to match as well.

We've made tweaks to character customization and added a bunch of new systems so you can blast through battles and the Item World and show everyone who's Overlord in your own customized style.

Mount humanoids on monsters to perform massive attacks; engage the Master/Pupil system to get stat boosts, master weapons,...

DICE Announces the Battlefield 4 Open Beta Starts Today on PS3

42w ago - DICE Community Manager Vincent Vukovic announced that the Battlefield 4 Open Beta starts today on PS3 with details below, as follows:

Help Us Make the Game Better

These are exciting times for Battlefield fans, and everyone at DICE! Today, we're releasing the Battlefield 4 open beta on PS3, and we want you all to join.

Simply by taking part in the beta, you'll help us test the servers, online functionality, and gameplay to make sure the PS3 launch on October 29th goes as smoothly as possible.

In the open beta, you'll be able to play both the classic Conquest mode and Domination, which you might recognize from Battlefield 3: Close Quarters (it's basically a faster and tighter version of Conquest, with more emphasis on infantry combat). The map on offer is Siege of Shanghai - you might recognize it from E3, when we first unveiled it and where the public got their very first hands-on with Battlefield 4.

Now, we want to bring that experience - complete with game-changing Levolution events like the big skyscraper collapsing or setting off car alarms - to all of our fans on PS3. It's you, the player, triggering these moments.

We're also looking to our fans to provide valuable feedback on the overall gaming experience. This is in every sense...

Fatal Frame III: The Tormented Reemerges Today on PSN

43w ago - Series Director Makoto Shibata announced that Fatal Frame III: The Tormented Reemerges today on PlayStation Network for PSN fans.

To quote: Before work began on Fatal Frame III, I heard that PS3 would be launching soon, so I conceived this project as a compilation of the past games, and our final game for PS2.

The first Fatal Frame used the Japanese horror technique of relying on the user's imagination to create a sense of fear, while the second placed the emphasis on storytelling. For the third, we went with "fear lurking within the everyday" as the theme.

In horror movies and such, the bedroom or bathroom are often where scary things happen, so we decided to try our hand and venture into these classic realms as well.

Yet, leaving it at "scary things in realistic places" would lack beauty, which is essential for any horror game. We needed more.

What I came up with was this: an old Japanese house within a dream, a house in the real world, and a player that travels between the two. In the Japanese house surrounded by thickly falling snow are the remnants of a mysterious ceremony, and the spirit of a girl covered with painful-looking tattoos can be found wandering around. Interacting with her causes the dream world to corrupt the real world.

IFun4All Announces Die!Die!Die! is Out Today on PlayStation Vita

50°
43w ago - IFun4All's Marlena Kolankowska announced today that Die!Die!Die! is out today on PlayStation Vita with details below.

To quote: Viruses! Infections! Disease everywhere! All this and more in a new game of medical mayhem for PS Vita, available on PlayStation Store today.

The ancient proverb "Physician, heal thyself" has never been truer than in our new PS Vita title. In this simple but absorbing game, take an unprecedented trip through the human body, fighting fever and battling bacteria inside the circulatory system, the digestive tract, and even the nervous system. Early levels require only basic remedies, while the spread of the disease is still slow.

But as you progress further, the infection spreads faster and your treatment will need to be more aggressive - fighting a full infection in Survival Mode will challenge even the quickest wits! And don't let the illness develop into a full-blown fever, or who knows what might happen...

You'll need skill and tactical cunning to win this war and restore full health. Slow, sturdy bacteria and speedy, agile viruses demand different approaches and a steady hand.

Select the right medicine for each battle, and make good use of the precious power-ups. Don't let their cute appearance deceive you - it's only a facade...

Video: Rain Arrives on PS3 Today, PlayStation 3 Launch Trailer Out

50°
43w ago - Sony Associate Producer Dais Kawaguchi announced that Rain arrives on PS3 today alongside a PlayStation 3 launch trailer below.

To quote: Rain will be available for purchase today on PS3 for $14.99! Also, starting today, the full soundtrack for rain will also be available for $9.99, featuring the enchanting music created by composer Yugo Kanno and the gifted singer Connie Talbot.

To celebrate the launch of rain, we played through the game LIVE here on PlayStation.Blog and on [Register or Login to view links] earlier today. We hope you enjoyed the stream, and got a better feel for rain!

It's been an amazing journey to bring the story of rain to life. Director Yuuki Ikeda initially had the idea to write a story about a boy who was invisible and could only be seen in the rain.

Inspired by an experience he had as a child where he found himself lost, the story of rain has flourished into an emotionally dynamic adventure, brought to life by the talented team at PlayStation C.A.M.P.

Thank you for supporting rain, and we hope you enjoy playing!
