Cloud Message: A Way to Announce a Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

250°
286w ago - The advertisement (pictured below) which can be found in the Japanese Magazine "DeGenki PlayStation" this morning states the following:

"CLOUD MESSAGE... Coming Soon"

But what can that "CLOUD Message" be exactly?

Can it be hiding an announcement of a much-anticipated Final Fantasy 7 remake, or just a delayed promotion for Advent Children Complete which will be released next March in Japan (with a Final Fantasy XIII demo, and an exclusive Pack including the Blu-ray film and a PlayStation 3).

One has to wonder, who is the best person to announce such a remake.. Cloud, don't you think?

TGS 2008: Final Fantasy XIII Live Premiere Underwhelmed

100°
288w ago - Update: Final Fantasy XIII's composer Masashi Hamauzu was presenting the live event. He didn't say much but has said the main theme doesn't have a title yet and probably won't until the game is completed. He also had a 5 minute "interview" talking about the process of composing a song. That's all we have so far.

According to ff13.xrea.jp, the Live Premiere Final Fantasy XIII event that was taking place today only lasted 20 minutes and included the trailers without voices.

The event lasted 25 minutes less than it was supposed to and included no new announcements from Square-Enix. They did preview two new tracks including the main theme though.

Sadly, that was the main point of the show...it was a live music event. We'll update you as we get more info.

Features translated from the article, linked above:

- Play at the same time on the Wii and DS, thanks to Pollux Engine created by Square Enix.
- Players on the Wii and players on the Nintendo DS will be able to play online together.
- Different gameplay for the 2 versions (stylus or Wiimote).
- Story revolves around Charlotta and a mysterious crystal.
- You can transfer Mii characters you made to the DS version.

As always, more details will be posted as they are available.

Rumor: Final Fantasy XIII to be a paid demo, not via PSN?

300°
293w ago - New reports suggest that the Final Fantasy XIII demo may be sold SEPARATELY. However in Japan, the demo is still scheduled to be bundled with the Advant Children Blu-ray release, it's just the rest of the world that might get charged to play the demo!

To quote: Thanks to our ever helpful forum member epsilon, we have yet more of Dengeki's interview with Nomura to show you. Square-Enix announced at DKS3173 that the Final Fantasy XIII demo will be packaged with the Advent Children: Complete blu-ray release in March next year. Unfortunately for everyone outside of Japan, the demo will probably arrive much later than that.

Nomura has told Dengeki though that the Final Fantasy XIII demo may be sold separately some time after Advent Children: Complete's release. Square-Enix know they can make a huge amount of revenue by including the Final Fantasy XIII demo with AC:C but is selling the demo separately possibly taking it too far?

The demo is supposed to be 90 minutes long, so the file size could make it unfeasible to host on the Playstation Network but if they sell it for an extortionate price, would people still buy it? I can pretty much answer my own question and say yes but that doesn't make it right.

Other than this, a few more details about the compilation were discussed...
