285w ago - Update: Since the original story went live, further information regarding the inclusion of trophies in the 2.40 update became available. As expected full 2D trophy support will be in the XMB update and there will be four types: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Platinum is only awarded when you have collected all other trophies in a game. Also there are no gamer points, it's all done via a levelling up system. Think Call of Duty 4 leveling up system, we reckon.
According to Future Publishing, an insider has dropped by to tell them that firmware v2.40 is set to launch in around three weeks time and has also revealed all the features.
The XMB features that you will be able to access in game include - friend category, messages, manage downloads, set vibration, sign in to PSN, register friends, bluetooth devices, music category, use system BGM, work system BGM operation panel, settings, assign controllers, view profiles, game category, set audio devices and use the voice channel. The update will allow you to play back custom tracks in-game from XMB music column although it's not sure if this is only compatible with new titles.

294w ago - It's bikes; as in, bikes are coming to Burnout Paradise!
"For the first time, we'll let you loose in a Burnout game on motorbikes!" Criterion exclaims, explaining that it's planning to get bikes in via its Davis update for the racer. It's expecting to have the update out in August.
"And because we're dedicated to bringing you game-changing new Burnout Paradise content all year, bikes will feature their own game modes, challenges and even some new locations tailored to fit their unique performance and handing characteristics", the developer continues.
It adds, "The other big news relating to bikes is that we've introduced night-time to Burnout Paradise for the first time.
"We wanted to clear the traffic out a little to give you the chance to learn how to ride in safety, and we've always wanted to cruise the streets of Paradise City with incredible night-time visuals.
We expect to ship bikes as part of our Davis software update, due for release sometime in August." Criterion says it'll have first footage showing bikes up on its Web site soon.
