Unannounced PSP Game Dead Nations Revealed by Eurogamer

280w ago - Today a Eurogamer Germany listing (linked above) for GamesCom 2009 appears to have revealed an unannounced PSP title scheduled to be shown, specifically Dead Nations.

Currently nobody has heard of the game, however, according to reports it is expected to be revealed tomorrow in Cologne.

The only facts known are it's name and that it's a PSP game.

Here is to hoping SCEE's presser taking place tomorrow night will reveal more on it!

To quote from the Eurogamer listing: Sony: Gran Turismo PSP, Dead Nations, Eye Pet, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, MAG, Modnation Racers, God of War III (the stand).
 

Rumor: PS3 Price Drop to $299 Revealed By FYE Ad Sign

280w ago - In a follow-up to our previous article on retailer FYE hinting at a PS3 price drop comes a few pics of an ad sign.

Courtesy of Oswald9599 from CAG (linked above), the ad signs show a PS3 price drop to $299 for the 80GB model and $399 for the 160GB Uncharted bundle.

To quote: "Your pal Oswald went down and got the proof so that the many haters and nonbelievers would get what they need and finally start with the enthusiasm that an announcement like this deserves.

This Pic is from a sign that might be up in some stores near you, but be warned this price drop is not in any way officially announced by SONY.

This price drop will take effect most likely the first week of September or sooner (NOTE: THE EXAMINER LISTED THIS EVENT AS STARTING ON SUNDAY AUG 16, THIS IN NO WAY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED)."
 

BioShock 2 Gamestop Pre-Order Bonus MP Characters Revealed

281w ago - GameStop has reportedly revealed two more characters in "Zigo the Fisherman" and "Blanche the Actress," available "exclusively" through pre-order of the game via in-store ads.

These characters were previously announced and are the first two characters from the multiplayer portion of the game that 2K has revealed.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] spotted the images on the 2K's [Register or Login to view links] from Rocco, where astute forum-goers point out that the images of the two characters look a lot like recently released BioShock 2 Mulitplayer Gamerpics #2 [Register or Login to view links] on Xbox Live.

As the game's release has been pushed back to the "first half" of 2010, we're waiting to hear more before running out to the store and dropping five Earth dollars, thank you very much.
 

XBox Live Dashboard Update: New Features Revealed

281w ago - The mandatory XBox Live service update on August 11, 2009 will add a couple of goodies to your dashboard, some of which bring it closer in line to PSN's HOME (i.e. buying digital versions of brand name clothing with real money to play dress-up with your virtual doll - now there's something we've all been waiting for, right?).

Sony Rewards Program Revealed in 'PS Thanks' Trademark Filing

282w ago - Update: [Register or Login to view links] has now received a response from Sony as follows, to quote: "We have a long history of creating unique loyalty programs such as PlayStation Underground, which started with the original PlayStation and has evolved into the Gamer Advisory Panel.

We continue to look for ways to expand this program and we are evaluating new naming conventions for this evolution, which is why we filed a trademark for PlayStation Thanks."

A trademark [Register or Login to view links] by Sony Computer Entertainment America on July 31, 2009 has revealed what is likely to be an upcoming Sony rewards program.

The wordmark "P.S. THANKS" (PlayStation Thanks) shows the following description:

ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES, NAMELY, INCENTIVE REWARDS PROGRAM GEARED TOWARD QUANTIFYING, IDENTIFYING AND MOTIVATING TOP CONSUMER BASE WITH THE GOAL OF PROMOTION AND SALE OF VIDEO GAME HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

To quote: "There are a number of ways Sony could incentivize their customer base. They could hand out points for each item purchased and reward frequent buyers with PlayStation products sort of like Club Nintendo.
