9w ago - Sony Community Manager Ramone Russell of San Diego Studios shared new information today on MLB 14 The Show including PS4 screens and PlayStation 4 release details below.

To quote: We know anticipation is high, especially given we're making our next-gen debut this season, and this week we were able to share a glimpse of what we've been working on for the past 10 months. Here's a look at some of the things we've got planned for MLB 14 The Show.

I've been asked what our goals are this year, and the answer is simple. Everyone on our team takes great pride in chasing our goal of producing the perfect sports game. It's what has made The Show the highest rated sports franchise over the last 8 years.

We've already covered some of what's new this year in our previous post here on the PlayStation.Blog. To recap: there are more than 50 new features and improvements that will enhance, deepen, streamline, and better your overall experience.

Quick Counts will cut game completion times in half. A new UI, built from the ground up for PS4 (but carried over across all versions) has been optimized for maximum efficiency and responsiveness.

Here's Mike Napoli on PS4 (top) vs. PS3 (bottom). Note the revamped lighting engine, meticulously rendered facial hair, and rich stadium detail.

Daylight on PS4: Designing the Hero, Protagonist Sarah Gwynn

10w ago - Daylight Writer Jessica Chobot shared details today on designing the hero, protagonist Sarah Gwynn, in Daylight on PS4.

To quote: With the Daylight launch just around the corner, I wanted to give PlayStation.Blog readers a bit of background on our protagonist, Sarah Gwynn.

The reasons we chose to go with a female main character were twofold. The first reason being that because I was writing the game, she became (in a roundabout way) an extension of myself. I came up with the outline for Daylight based on some urban exploration I did in my high school days.

Specifically, a blighted little spot within my small Michigan town by the name of The Sheldon Buildings (officially known as the Wayne County Training School for Feeble Minded Children).

The Sheldon Buildings were a dilapidated set of buildings from the early 1900s linked together by a set of underground tunnels running throughout the grounds (they've since been torn down). A town within a town, the outer perimeter of the Training School was bricked-in by a 7+ foot tall wall.

Within the gates, the school hosted a hospital center, a gigantic, old-fashioned theater, dorms, an indoor and outdoor pool, its own police and fire stations, as well...

Rayman Legends on PlayStation 4: Your PS4 Questions Answered

50°
10w ago - Ubisoft French Blog Coordinator Florian Dos Santos answered some PS4 questions below on the upcoming PlayStation 4 title Rayman Legends.

To quote: Next week sees the release of Ubisoft's phenomenal platformer Rayman Legends on PS4. The limbless mascot's latest adventure won huge acclaim when it launched on PS3 and PS Vita last year, and we can't wait to see how its gorgeous visuals translate on the new hardware.

With that in mind, we've been harvesting a few of your questions via Twitter and our official forums, and put them to Senior Game Designer, Emile Morel. Read on to find out more about what you can expect from the PS4 release.

Can we use the touchscreen of the PS Vita to get the most out of the game? (Fragbeat, Netherlands)

Emile: In the PlayStation 4 version of Rayman Legends, you can use your PS Vita in Remote Play mode, which means that you can play the entire game on your PS Vita, without the need to use the TV. This mode is useful when you're in the middle of a game and someone wants to use the TV, so you don't have to stop, and you can continue playing for as long as you want!

As you will see, we have adapted the game controls to PS Vita so the experience is as enjoyable on this console as it is with the PS4 joystick in your hands!

InFamous Second Son PS4 Hands-on: Great Power, Great Responsibility

50°
10w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements shared hands-on details today on InFamous Second Son on PS4 who states with great power comes great responsibility.

To quote: Delsin Rowe strolls down a shadowy length of docks with ample confidence. Caches of illegal drugs have been hidden among the houseboats moored there, which is a disagreeable notion to our super-powered, rough-around-the-edges hero.

But with eye-searing neon and seething smoke at his disposal, Delsin has little to fear from the drug peddlers peppering him with gunfire. Bullets ricochet off the flashing neon light around his head as he flinches - they're more an annoyance than a danger. As he leaps into the air to greet his enemies, powers flaring to life, he can destroy them or subdue them. And that's up to the player.

Choice has always played a vital role in the inFAMOUS series, and inFAMOUS Second Son is no exception. Amidst all the open-world action that developer Sucker Punch has set in its own Seattle, Delsin can enter combat as a careful hero or a ruthless force. These methods of play not only affect how each battle scene is approached, but how Delsin's powers manifest themselves.

Smoke and neon, the two powers Sucker Punch has revealed so far, can cater to either play style. Players unconcerned with...
