To quote from his blog: PS3 Game List v3.2

Another application update, bringing PS3 Game List to v3.2. Following the engine update from the previous release, this revision fixes one of the main issues that kept lingering for a long time: crashing.

Since PS3GL supports several types of media (game folders, ISO, RAR, PKG, 7Z and PSARC files, to be precise), an occasional error would crash the application and cause great annoyance. Not anymore. The app will now skip bad media and inform which ones did not load as expected. Please report back to improve media compatibility.

This release implements new requested features, like further PARAM.SFO editing, visualization of trophies from game trilogies and the support for non game PKG. Also, tossed in a couple of fixes to improve old functionality. All in all, a recommended upgrade.

Check the changelog below for all the 3.2 features. As...

Video: Tales of Hearts R Coming to PlayStation Vita This Winter

50°
21w ago - Namco Bandai Community Manager J Kartje shared a PS Vita video today announcing that Tales of Hearts R is coming to PlayStation Vita this Winter.

To quote: It's impossible not to hear the shouts of JRPG fans worldwide asking for the chance to play a Tales game on PS Vita. Your hearts resonated across Facebook, Twitter, and gaming forums everywhere. So without further ado, we're happy to announce that Tales of Hearts R will be making its way to North America in Winter, 2014.

For this special occasion, Hideo Baba, Producer on the Tales series, has prepared a video message straight from Japan. Keep an eye out for all the Tales goodies.

We've done our best to keep this announcement a surprise, and we're excited to see the fans welcome this new addition to the growing heritage of Tales games.

The adventure starts with Kor, a young man living in a small village by the sea. While watching the house in his grandfather's absence, Kor meets a young woman named Kohaku who has come searching for his grandfather.

However, a mysterious witch soon appears and casts a spell on Kohaku's Spiria, the embodiment of her heart and soul. Kor attempts to lift the spell, but while doing so he accidentally shatters...

Backgammon Blitz Comes to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita This Winter

50°
23w ago - Head of Mobile Robert Karp at The Fyzz Facility announced today that Backgammon Blitz is coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita this Winter (Tuesday in the US).

To quote: Update: We are very pleased to share that Backgammon Blitz will be launching April 15th for PS3, PS Vita and PS4, priced at a bargain $7.99 Not only do you get the first ever recreation of this age-old board game for latest and greatest generation of consoles, but there is also the brand new and exclusive Blitz arcade mode, which takes the wonderful game of Backgammon and adds a whole new layer of depth and strategy.

I'm just the messenger, of course. The talented folks behind this lovely little title are known as VooFoo. Having made a name for themselves with Hustle Kings and Pure Chess, Backgammon feels like a step onwards and upwards for the studio, taking all of their strengths (gorgeous art design, a subtle but stylish approach to UI) and none of their weaknesses (cake night each Friday has always been their Achilles heel) into the next generation of platforms. VooFoo Studios yet again have done a fantastic job of making their visuals really stand out from the crowd - just check these screen shots below.

For me - and I hope you'll agree once you've gone hands-on with the final game - VooFoo aren't "just" developers...

To quote from his blog: PS3 Game List v3.1

Yet another revision bringing PS3 Game List to v3.1. As mentioned before, the main goal was to work on the application engine so it could better accommodate upcoming changes. Roughly, it means tons of fixes, and game data loading up to 80% faster.

This version implements a new feature: UDF (ISO 13346) file system support. In addition to loading ISO 9660 files, users can both create and load UDF 2.50 ISO images of their game folders. PS3GL now supports loading split ISO images as well.

Moreover, the app now fully supports Unicode characters in game folders (finally no more errors while loading data or mass renaming).

Check the changelog below for all the 3.1 features.

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

OlliOlli Update: Win a Custom Skateboard, Helmet and First Aid Kit

50°
32w ago - General Dogsbody Simon Bennett at Roll7 is back with an OlliOlli update, inviting fans to win a custom skateboard, helmet and first aid kit.

Below are the details, to quote: So, we are two weeks since the launch of OlliOlli - the response has been AMAZING! Our tiny studio in New Cross, London, has been overwhelmed by the love that we have received from reviewers, but we're mainly overwhelmed from the sheer Twitter love that the game has got in its first couple of weeks (you guys rule!).

As you may have read in our communications and on forums, there is a pesky bug that seems to crop up from time to time. We found out about this just as journos were doing their initial reviews, and the team has been working tirelessly to try to smash out a fix.

It's not an easy task, but we have help from our other Indie Vita friends and the splendid people at Sony - so fingers crossed we will have some news for you soon.

In other news, we have now had three people (that we know of) complete RAD mode, which is pretty special. Only half of the Roll7 team have achieved this, so it's no mean feat! Maybe we need to make the game harder?

Anyway, you lovely people have now had a few days to get your hands around the controls, hopefully racking up some nice combos, so it's time...
