Sony Details FirstPlay Episode 31, Arrives Wednesday on PSN

50°
198w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared details on FirstPlay Episode 31 todya, which arrives this Wednesday on PSN.

To quote: Because this week on FirstPlay we've got a positively thumping HD review of new SingStar rival Def Jam Rapstar (which, despite our best efforts, they decided not to call BlingStar).

We've also got a preview of sleek smash 'em Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, and we zoom in for an extra close-up look at what we can expect from Bioshock Infinite when it's finally released in a thousand years. Or 2012. Whatever.

And there's loads more too. We've also got tips from the DJ Hero 2 team on how to spin your opponents into the ground in the game's competitive mode, a personal take from editor-in-chief Tim Clark on his addiction to PES 2011's Become A Legend mode, plus reviews of DeathSpank: Thongs Of Virtue, Vanquish, Front: Mission Evolved and Tumble.

Last but not least we have our screenshot galleries, which is where we tend to put our weirdest jokes and where this week you'll find Twisted Metal, Alice: Madness Returns, El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatron and Mindjack.

All of this can be yours for just 99p, or even less if you buy an £8.99 subscription to FirstPlay for 12 weeks. Which you definitely should, if you think...

199w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared a preview of FirstPlay Episode 30 today, which arrives this Wednesday on PSN.

To quote: The blood dripping down the walls and the sickly aroma of toffee apples can only mean that it's Halloween.

Or at least that it's close enough to Halloween for us to make episode 30 of FirstPlay, up on the Store from this Wednesday, into a spooky special.

That means we're previewing the hottest upcoming PS3 horrors including F.3.A.R. and Shadows Of The Damned, checking out the meanest video nasties on the PSN Store, and playing through three of your scariest LittleBigPlanet levels.

And we've also got a special feature asking the FirstPlay and Official PlayStation Magazine teams to talk about their scariest ever gaming moments.

Not Halloween-themed but just as scary is our review of grappler sequel WWE Smackdown! Vs Raw 2011, and we've also got our verdict on Fallout New Vegas, an in-depth interview with FreeStyleGames about the making of their hip-hop hit DJ Hero.

And there's more - our regular galleries, including the bloodiest screenshots we could find, and a reviews round-up - and it all comes for just 99p, or less if you buy an £8.99 subscription for 12 weeks.

Enjoy! And have a wicked...

200w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared a preview of FirstPlay Episode 29 today, which hits PlayStation Store on Wednesday of this week.

To quote: This week I fell over playing football and hit my head on a brick, which, it turns out, meant I had to spend ages lying down and playing the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta. What's that, boss? No, still not quite better...

That's a true story, by the way, and absolutely the thing I'll be blaming my regular typos on this week. The good news is that it also means episode 29 of FirstPlay, out on the Store this Wednesday, features an in-depth look at what the insanely talented LittleBigPlanet community have been making with the tools from the upcoming sequel.

We've also got one last look at the awesomely frantic sci-fi shooter Vanquish before it's released this Friday, plus a review of the PS3-exclusive HD update of classic shooter Medal Of Honor: Frontline, which comes packaged with the new game's Limited Edition, and a review of Robin Hood on Blu-ray.

And there's more - reviews of Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light and Worms 2: Armageddon, plus a look at the latest downloadable comics, and a new feature in which two members of the team clash...

50°
201w ago - Today Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has offered a preview of FirstPlay episode 28 today, which arrives on the PSN store this Wednesday.

To quote: We've got another packed episode this week, with an exclusive PSN trial of the brilliantly bloodthirsty side-scrolling RTS Swords & Soldiers, and our last bit of PlayStation Home Top Gun attire - the one you've been waiting for, Maverick's helmet.

Show me the way home. Home! I've been waiting weeks to say that.

We've also got another strong line-up of games, with reviews of EA's rebooted blockbuster Medal Of Honor, and muddy-as-hell puddle sim FIA World Rally Championship.

We've also got a behind-the-scenes preview of EA Sports' MMA, and a round-up of other releases featuring Jon Daly's ProStroke Golf, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

And there's more - a huge hands-on multiplayer preview of Call Of Duty: Black Ops, including interviews with developer Treyarch, our top ten list of the best weapons you can build in Dead Rising 2, and a look at your latest skin-tearing Skate catastrophes.

On top of all that we've got a review of Swords & Soldiers - luckily, it's not rubbish - and another round of screenshot galleries, this week featuring Batman Arkham City, Ratchet...

Sony Offers a FirstPlay Episode 27 Preview, Arrives Wednesday

50°
202w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has shared a FirstPlay Episode 27 preview today, which arrives this Wednesday via PSN.

To quote: We've got a big, big episode of FirstPlay for you this week. Firstly, we've got more things to give away - extra Top Gun stuff for your PlayStation Home avatar and an exclusive FirstPlay dynamic theme, built with our own occasionally fair hands.

Then we've also got a stellar line-up of games. Two of the year's epicest adventures are given the full HD review treatment - Enslaved: Odyssey To The West and Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow. If you're a fan of Uncharted, or God Of War, or just good games, you'll want to take a long, hard look at what this pair have to offer.

We've also got a verdict on the slightly less stellar Quantum Theory (funeral march should be playing right about now) and a reviews round-up including HAWX 2, the actually very decent RUSE and Madden NFL 11.

On top of that we've got the best of the PlayStation Network, this week featuring an online review of [Register or Login to view links], a look at the latest minis, and reviews of Blade Kitten and the Move and 3D-enabled Flight Control HD. Land. LAND YOU IDIOTS!

And on top of all that we've...
