10w ago - Ubisoft Senior Community Developer Mike Madavi has proclaimed today that the Rocksmith 2014 Edition is indeed the fastest way to learn guitar.
To quote: Let's face it; it's hard to make something that is truly the best in its respective field - especially so in a world as populated as guitar.
When the Ubisoft team at Studio San Francisco set out to completely revamp Rocksmith, that was our goal - to make Rocksmith the unquestionable fastest and best way to learn to play guitar or bass.
It was, with no exaggeration, a massive undertaking that took years to complete despite the product's core engine already existing from the original iteration.
Now, only a month out from the release of the all-new Rocksmith 2014 Edition, we confidently feel that goal was achieved. It would be easy for us to proudly boast about all the improvements, changes, and innovations that make Rocksmith truly remarkable, but we'd rather let some familiar faces do that for us.
We let credible, established guitar players, teachers, and researchers try out Rocksmith 2014 Edition and give us their feedback.

13w ago - Sony Community Manager James Spafford shared details today on building your own papercraft world in Tearaway on PlayStation Vita.
To quote: Tearaway is a game set in a papery world, which means that if you wanted to, you could craft the entire game from paper in the real world - and that's exactly what we hope people will do!
To help you along your way, we've filled the game will collectible papercraft plans, which you can unlock as you journey through the world.
As you play, you'll come across creatures, plants or objects that appear to be drained of their colour. Taking a picture of them with your character's in-game camera restores their colour, and unlocks their plan.
Each plan has various different skins - blank ones, or colorful ones, so you can either make something that looks like it does in the game, or customise them to look completely different and unique to you.
The plans will be accessed on our community website, where you'll find everything you've unlocked so far, and from here you'll be able to print them out, make them, and fill your house with papercraft!
The journey doesn't end there though. Once you've made your papercraft model, you can upload a picture of your creation to the website to share it with the...
15w ago - Sony PlayStation Community Manager shared details today on the photography in Tearaway on PS Vita inviting fans to let your creativity loose.
To quote: Tearaway is about going on an adventure. It's a very personal journey between two people: you, and your new messenger friend.
If you're going on an adventure, you're likely going to see lots of amazing things, and you'll probably want to tell people about them. That's why we gave Iota and Atoi their own cameras!
As soon as we put the camera into Tearaway, the whole studio started documenting and sharing their journeys through the vibrant, papery landscapes, and in addition to providing us with mementos, it was clear that it could be a great avenue for creativity, too. If you know anything about us, you'll know that's something we can't help but include in our games.
You'll be awarded the camera early in your adventure. It comes with a kit lens, with a nice depth of field, and you can get snapping straight away. To unlock new lenses and special filters, you'll need to collect confetti; little colourful bits of paper you'll see throughout the world. You can spend this confetti on numerous things, including camera items.
There are five additional lenses to collect, each brings something different...
20w ago - Media Molecule Creative Lead developer Rex Crowle shared a video today announcing that the Tearaway release date is updated for the PlayStation Vita platform.
To quote: Here at Media Molecule we love to make new things on new platforms.
To us, making games is a real labor of love. Our very blood, sweat and tears are poured into every pixel, every line of code, every note in every song, and every little post it note we use to plan our lives.
Tearaway is our first handheld game, set in a totally new world, with characters on a new adventure.
Throughout development we have constantly explored all the ways we could think of to create the most fun and enjoyable experiences possible on PS Vita, whilst also learning how to make a 3D creative platformer! We are really proud of the work we are doing, and are really excited to share it with you!
We are now in the final stages of development, and have come to the realisation that we need a little more time than we anticipated to finish the game; to tie all of the mechanics, story and amazing visuals together into the adventure that we want you to play. To give us that time, we've decided to move the release date by one month, from mid-October, to November 22nd.
20w ago - Community Developer Zack Cooper shared a video today detailing three ways to play Splinter Cell Blacklist on PS3 for fans below.
To quote: As you can see in the video below, we've got three very distinct playstyles in Splinter Cell Blacklist. The Ghost is someone who likes to get in and out of a mission, leaving absolutely no trace of their presence.
You can either avoid contact with the enemy altogether (undisturbed hostiles give you the greatest challenge and reward), or knock them out. There are plenty of gadgets tailor-made for Ghosts; the proximity shocker is one of my favorites, especially when I feel like messing around with the AI.
I'll lay down mines, fire off a sticky cam for reconnaissance and/or distraction (you can play sounds from the sticky cam to serve as a decoy), and then lure the baddies into my playground.
There's something completely satisfying about knocking out a terrorist, leaving his body out in the open, then watching one of his buddies take notice and race over to investigate... only to get zapped. I'll clean up my mess after that, and hide those guys in the comfort of the darkness.
The Ghost is always non-lethal, though. That's imperative to the playstyle. If you want to use your karambit (the Indonesian knife that Sam uses in Blacklist),...
