New PlayStation 3 games
I am very excited to announce that next month's hero title will be the exceptional Battlefield 3, arriving on the service on 3rd July.
Built by the extremely talented team at DICE studios, Battlefield 3 is an FPS masterpiece from start to finish, taking full advantage of the Frostbite 2 game engine to deliver a superior visual experience.
Moving on to your next PS3 offering... I know that a lot of you have been waiting a while for this one, so I am happy to announce that we will be bringing Payday:...
25w ago - Co-creator Richard Hogg made available a video from E3 2013 today unveiling Hohokum for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms below.
To quote: Hello there! It has been about a month since we announced that Hohokum will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita next year.
At the time I mentioned that we would have some gameplay footage coming soon... and here it is! It features lots of new gameplay footage as well as a close look at some of the characters from the game.
These bits were fun to make as they bring together lots of characters who never actually meet in the game. They seem to be getting on ok though, particularly Brollygirl and the oil-can guy. Gonna have to watch those two.
If you missed our previous announcement, Hohokum is a colorful, charming and whimsical game made by myself, Richard Hogg (I am an artist and illustrator) and Honeyslug, a London based game studio. It was an IGF and IndieCade finalist in 2011.
Hohokum will be playable at E3 in a few different locations including the PlayStation booth and the marvelous IndieCade booth. Look forward to seeing a bit more about Hohokum coming...
Below is an ongoing PlayStation 4 video summary thus far, with more PS4 details incoming and additional PS4 hardware pictures which will be added throughout the night.
Sony also confirmed used games are no problem, there is no authentication for disc-based titles and no online check either, as follows (via engadget.com/2013/06/10/sony-ps4-will-support-used-games-with-no-restrictions/):
The PS4 will play used games without any restrictions or authentication. In broader terms, that means that when you purchase physical media, that disc can then be traded-in at...
28w ago - Codemasters Community Manager Ben Walke has officially unveiled Grid 2 Mono Edition today, which he touts as the ultimate collector's item for fans.
To quote: Hi everyone, It's great to be back here again and this time I've got some exciting news about a one-of-a-kind GRID 2 special edition, exclusive to PlayStation fans.
We reckon it's the most exclusive special edition that's ever been created, and most expensive. That said, it does deliver the ultimate racing experience for a gamer.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the GRID 2 Mono Edition, which includes, for one lucky gamer, the following:
• A copy of GRID 2 for PlayStation 3 including bespoke artwork
• An actual 170 mph BAC Mono supercar in exclusive GRID 2 livery
• A day at the BAC factory, including a factory tour and time spent with technicians to customise the BAC Mono for size and specifications
• A GRID 2: Mono Edition-branded Bell Racing helmet, Race suit, boots and gloves, all made to measure in BAC Mono and GRID 2 branding
• A PlayStation 3
• Did we say AN ACTUAL BAC Mono supercar? Yeah, one of them.
Using Saber's technology and development platform, we strive to create digital games that look like retail products. With our first release, God Mode, we wanted to create a lighthearted throwback experience, which focuses on arcade-style action over story. We came up with a classic premise - fighting to get out of Hell - then wrapped it in a third-person shooter with 3D graphics on par with full-price titles.
Finally, we added a slew weapons: plasma launchers, rail guns and what we affectionately call the "buzzsaw," in order to wipe out waves and waves of demonic hordes.
We decided that God Mode should be less about deep narrative and more about action. This approach gave us the ability to really go crazy and build a unique world full of plenty of characters to shoot, blow up, impale and maim.
After making this decision early on in the design process, the designers...
