Infinity Ward: First Major Modern Warfare 2 Title Update Incoming

228w ago - Last week we reviewed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PS3, and today Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling (aka fourzerotwo) sent word that the first major Modern Warfare 2 title update is in the works.

This came in the form of a Twitter Tweet in response to a question from IRISnGEN, to quote:

"IRISnGEN: How are the fixes coming for the glitches, matchmaking, hit detection coming? Any update would be appreciated.

fourzerotwo: At the moment were on Holiday (Thanksgiving) but playing and tracking feedback for the first major title update."

So there you have it, more details to come as they are available!
 

Uncharted 2 Celebrates Halloween with a Title Update and More

233w ago - Today Naughty Dog Senior Manager of Marketing Communications Arne Meyer has announced that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for PS3 is celebrating Halloween with a title update and a double cash weekend.

To quote: The next time you start up UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves you will be required to download an update to the game (Japan and Asia regions – your update will be available next week).

Here's the list of (most of) the changes we made. Some changes have been withheld to protect the innocent.

• Addressed respawn points when the artifact goes out of bounds in the Plunder gametype
• Dynamically adjust the win condition for fewer players during the course of a match
• Added features to deter players from voluntarily leaving during a match
• Added rate limit to "When a Chapter is Completed" Twitter event
• Fixed a display issue during letterboxing
• Fixed Danish Trophy description
• Fixed screenshot utility in standard definition resolutions
• Fixed the "Players Met" list not displaying recent players
• Addressed a variety of Multiplayer connectivity issues

Rumor: PS3 to Get Cross-Title Voice Chat in PS3 Firmware 3.10

238w ago - According to an inside source at VG247.com (linked above), the PlayStation 3 will be getting cross-title voice chat next month included in a PS3 Firmware 3.10 update.

No further details are available yet, but to quote from the source:

"A VG247 source said today that Sony has informed developers of plans to incorporate cross-title voice chat in PS3 play by the end of October.

The feature will be added in Firmware update 3.10, we were told.

Cross-title chat is consistently one of the most asked-for features on PS3 - looks like Sony's ready to deliver."
 

Video and Media from Cancelled PS3 Title 'Eight Days' Available

242w ago - Today some screens and a video courtesy of hibikinaruto via YouTube is available from cancelled PS3 title Eight Days.

To quote: You may recall hearing early last year that Sony ceased development on both The Getaway and Eight Days in order to shift resources to projects closer to completion.

Shortly after some test footage of Eight Days was released by a former Sony London employee and today we've revived even more media.

Below you'll find a test trailer of one nasty looking crash as well as screens that reveal celebrity talent such as Ving Rhames, Gary Oldman and Dennis Hopper were involved with the title.
