Seen at CES 2009: Microsoft Surface Failure

50°
287w ago - Intrepid reader Yves Milord snapped a pic of what might be the first error message seen on a Microsoft Surface.

It's not a system-wide fail, and we still like the Surface, but who doesn't love an error during promotion?

Microsoft "goons" apparently hustled Yves immediately out after he snapped this shot, before he could do any more damage.

Keep stickin' it to the man, readers! Thanks, Yves!

Rumor: LittleBigPlanet Street Fighter Sackboys Surface

50°
293w ago - According to Spanish Web site PSNow, Capcom will soon release a selection of Street Fighter gear.

When confirmed, players will be able to dress up as fan favorite brawlers Ryu, Chun Li, Guile, and Zangief.

To quote: Why not? It seems the best way to promote your game today is to dress up Media Molecule's lead character as that of your own.

If you're a fan of the Capcom fighting series, you will apparently be able to pick up the character costumes shown above individually and as a package deal.

No word on price or release date just yet. Sit tight.

WipEout HD Reports of Crashing/Freezing Surface; Possible Fixes

100°
302w ago - Several have reported on the official UK PlayStation forum (linked above) that they are experiencing random crashes and freezing issues with the recently released WipEout HD.

Based on user feedback thus far, the bug appears to be affecting only those with too many people (50+) on their PSN friends list. SCEE Community Team Leader MusterBuster stated that Sony is looking into the issue, however, some are reporting possible "fixes" until an official update or patch is made available.

To quote lowrider007: Well, for me anyway, I can now play signed into PSN and no freezes, I updated my firmware to 2.43 and it seems to be fine now, I've had it on for about 3 hours now and it's the first time it hasn't locked up at all, strange that should fix my issue, perhaps their was a glitch in my last FW update for something.

To quote D-E-V-I-L-08: Listen carfully...

1. Sort out your buddy list - At 1st I had 61 friends.. and moved down to 38 friends.
2. Then delete both Wipeout game PLUS the system key (found in system data) and delete gamesave too.
3. Go to your download list.. then install the FULL GAME KEY (100kb) File 1st
4. Download the game
5. After completion, Install the game.. then.. turn PlayStation 3 off... and on
6. Run game.. and...

Pet Ownership and You! Eyepet Screens Surface

200°
306w ago - Last week McWhertor told you about little interesting concept that Sony's been working on that they unveiled at Leipzig.

The game is called Eyepet, and basically it allows a person to interact with a creature using the PlayStation Eye camera.

Screw guinea pigs and hamsters, why clean up after a real pet when you can have one on your TV. :P

Eyepet promises to have all of the perks of pet ownership without any of the mess.

Below you will find images of what the little critters look like.

Rumor: PSP-3000 in Production, First Alleged Photos Surface

300°
311w ago - According to forum posters at PSPChina, the long-rumored PSP-3000 in is production and will include a built-in mic, along with minor cosmetic changes.

To substantiate their claims, one of the forum goers supplied a photo of the unit, which depicts a new button with the PS brand logo next to the two volume push buttons, in replace of the HOME button found on the PSP-1000 and 2000 series. To the right of the volume buttons is the microphone.

Keep in mind these photos are not confirmed to be the real deal and that they should be considered rumor for now. We'll be following up with Sony to learn more about its PSP plans and get comment on the authenticity of the photos.
