200w ago - SCEE's PlayStation 3 Producer Katy O'Brien has announced today that round one of their campaign dubbed 'PS3 The Game' is ending on February 15, 2010.
To quote: I'm Katy and I have been working on the PS3 campaign, "The Game". For those of you who have been involved, you may know that round one is coming to an end.
Team A are currently in the lead but Team B is making a brave come back and if our Facebook community have got anything to do with it, Team B are going to steal back the lead in the final days, while Team A will be left wondering where it all went wrong! (That's their plan anyway!)

234w ago - Fight Night Round 4 drops next week for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but G4TV has already been putting the game through its paces.
In the video below they show off the game's improved "Legacy Mode", which starts off with the boxer's first amateur tournament and follows him throughout his entire career.
You can also elect to play this mode as one of the real world boxers, by the way.
To quote from the video's caption: We take Fight Night Round 4's improved Legacy Mode for a spin in the (almost) first 15 minutes of the game. We skip character creation and the first two fights to bring you the semi-finals and finals for the first tournament.

240w ago - At a recent EA event I had a chance to play Fight Night Round 4 against the game's producer, Brian Hayes.
I may have never become too involved in the original, but enjoyed enough time with it that I was able to quickly see the changes in Round 4 first-hand. And there were a lot of changes.
To quote: It's safe to say that Fight Night Round 4 is likely one of the best looking sports game ever made. A bold statement, yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. Boxers are modeled wonderfully, and the game's enhanced engine really takes advantage of all of the power this generation has to offer.
As I sat talking to the developer the boxers stood beside each other, bobbing and weaving. As they moved, sweat dripped off their chins from time to time. It wasn't a steady drip as if from a leaky faucet, but an occasional surge of water, like the kind that would flow from the pores of a man about to exchange punches with another while standing shirtless below bright lights. For a moment I was taken aback, amazed at the attention to detail in the seemingly unimportant sweat of the boxers. The attention to detail didn't stop there.

258w ago - Through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we heard a lot about the phenomenal popularity of the Nintendo Wii this holiday season. But are shoppers also showing interest in the smaller cousins of the consoles: portable gaming systems? And who is winning that battle for consumer interest?
Sony PlayStation and Nintendo are the major players in this market - with the PSP and the DS, respectively. To get a read on how online interest in these two brands shaped up in 2008, I looked at portable gaming interest in 2008 on two major consumer electronics retailers' Web sites, Best Buy (BBY) and Circuit City. Specifically, I tracked hardware and software for the PSP and DS and other legacy devices by these companies.
- The Nintendo portable devices have consistently generated more traffic than PlayStation across these two retailers' sites.
- Interest in the PSP has been slipping on these sites. More than twice as many people looked at the Nintendo portable gaming products than the PSP last month.
Although this data is taken from just two (albeit large) retailers, the relative popularity of the Nintendo products is worth considering. Despite recent updates to the PlayStation product and its ability to play movies as well as games, it can't seem to edge out the DS in terms of interest or sales....
