83w ago - Following up on the recent rumor of PSOne game emulation support for PS Vita, today PlayStation Vita hacker The_Zett has made available a decrypted Flash0 dump of the PSP emulator for PS Vita which includes the kernel / user keys.
An unknown VITA developer shared some interesting files, a little hint - PSP emulator and f0
From The Z on PlayStation Vita developer wololo's forum (linked above) on the release, to quote:
An unknown Vita developer has shared an interesting link some hours ago, which contains a full dump of the flash0 of the vita psp emulator - Including the kermit modules and the psvita kernel keys!
This dump can lead some professional Vita developers to kernel access, which will give us the ability to play nearly every homebrew. Backup launcher could be possible as well, but for these ones a high rank developer would be needed for programming it.
The developer says that he shared the files because...
85w ago - Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation Vita homebrew developer wololo has unveiled the title of the next PSP game that VHBL will support on PS Vita to be Super Collapse 3.
To quote from his blog: Insert here random rant for Sony.
Insert here weird explanation on why people should buy the PSP game Super Collapse 3 on their Vita. Implicitly make it clear that this is the next game being used for VHBL. Don’t forget to thank thecobra for his exploit and the port.
Mention that the game is mostly unavailable for the vita in Europe/Asia, but has been so far spotted in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Finland, Czech, Sweden, and Poland.
Tell people to wait a bit more for the VHBL files.
89w ago - Following up on his PS Vita VHBL Motorstorm Arctic Edge release, this weekend PS Vita and PSP hacker wololo has revealed that Everybody's Tennis (known as Hot Shots Tennis in the US and Minna no Tennis in Japan) contains a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code and has since been removed from PSN by Sony.
To quote from his blog (linked above) as follows: Dear Sony, it has come to my attention that one of the PSP games available on the PlayStation Vita has a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code by some malicious users. Therefore I am writing this blog post so that you can patch the game or remove it from the PSN store as soon as possible.
Preferably, I suggest you take the money from your clients first, and prevent...
89w ago - Following up on the PSP SaveGame Exploit on PS Vita from a few days ago, today PlayStation Vita hacker wololo reports that Davee has obtained PSP Kernel access on PS Vita through another exploit with a PS Vita PSP HEN demo video and details below!
To quote: Famous PSP dev Davee just posted a YouTube video showing him running PSP homebrews on a Vita. I initially thought “well, not a big surprise, he’s running his own port of VHBL to some random exploited game”, but it turns out this is much more interesting than that, as he managed to get a PSP Kernel exploit running on the PSP Emulator.
Davee had hinted a few days ago on twitter that he had PSP User mode access, but it’s a surprise to see Kernel mode today. What this means to the end user is full homebrew compatibility (unlike VHBL which is hit and miss), and potentially down the road, PSP iso loaders (the video actually shows a psp iso running). Check his video below:
The video shows a minimalist interface called “PRX Loader” which seems to be used to run the homebrews. No word...
90w ago - Following up on the previous PSP SaveGame exploit news, this weekend PlayStation Vita developer Zer01ne has Tweeted news of a new PSP game exploit that works on Firmware 6.60 and has also been confirmed working with Sony's new PS Vita handheld console as well!
Below is a video of it in action, and to quote from his Twitter updates:
New PSP Game exploit found (This time the game was not already used).
No plan for any HBL portage (We will see). http://pic.twitter.com/m5bUpwt7
I have broken my right arm, the VHBL portage will take time. I will try to do something on with my left arm.
