Video: Running PSP ISOs (PSP ISO Loader) on the PS Vita Demo

750°
118w ago - Below is a demo video from wololo (via The Z from German site [Register or Login to view links]) of a developer running PSP ISOs using a PSP ISO Loader on the PlayStation Vita handheld console.

To quote: "You might remember the hacker whom I nicknamed “Tony”, who was able to run PS1 games and psp isos with a CFW on a PS Vita. Or you might remember Davee’s HEN running on a PS Vita back in march. You might also remember that I mentioned that several groups are now in possession of a PSP kernel exploit on the Vita.

Well it seems today that a beta tester for one of these groups was not completely careful, and leaked a video showing him running psp isos on a Vita (video below).

The video shows the tester (who is possibly Chinese) running isos for Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker and Shining Blade through a (PSP) kernel exploit.

I have been told that the initial video has since then been removed which is why I’m thinking of a beta-tester mistake, but that was probably too late and the video got copied to other networks such as youtube.

What I can tell you right now is that this video is legit, and that...

PS Vita Dev Wololo Unveils VHBL Success with New PSP Game Exploit

1000°
127w ago - Today PlayStation Vita developer wololo has announced news of VHBL success using a new PSP game exploit courtesy of [Register or Login to view links] with details below.

To quote from his blog: Sometimes, it’s just that simple...

Neur0n has been kind enough to share with me the details of his latest user mode exploit, so that I could help porting VHBL to his game on the EU and US versions (yes, the game seems to be available on all stores, and don’t stop reading here, it gets better).

Sometimes porting VHBL to a new game can be a pain in the rear. Many times, as I discovered the hard way, we hit a wall and have to give up after dozens of hours of investigation.

On this exploit too, had I been alone working on it, I would have given up. It seemed impossible to free most of the ram (VHBL basically needs to cleanly remove the game from the ram, in order to load homebrews instead), and the exploit ended up with about 2MB of free ram, instead of the 24MB that we usually expect.

But hey, that’s where comes the joy of working with talented people like Neur0n: he figured out, within 24hours, how to free the additional 22MB. I am not sure really how he found out, and why it works, but it damn works.

So I can proudly...

Flash0 of PSP Emulator for PS Vita Dumped, Kernel / User Keys

550°
137w ago - Following up on the recent rumor of PSOne game emulation support for PS Vita, today PlayStation Vita hacker The_Zett has made available a decrypted Flash0 dump of the PSP emulator for PS Vita which includes the kernel / user keys.

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

From his [Register or Login to view links] feed, to quote:

An unknown VITA developer shared some interesting files, a little hint - PSP emulator and f0

From The Z on PlayStation Vita developer wololo's forum (linked above) on the release, to quote:

An unknown Vita developer has shared an interesting link some hours ago, which contains a full dump of the flash0 of the vita psp emulator - Including the kermit modules and the psvita kernel keys!

This dump can lead some professional Vita developers to kernel access, which will give us the ability to play nearly every homebrew. Backup launcher could be possible as well, but for these ones a high rank developer would be needed for programming it.

The developer says that he shared the files because...

Super Collapse 3 Unveiled as Next VHBL Supported Title for PS Vita

1000°
139w ago - Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation Vita homebrew developer wololo has unveiled the title of the next PSP game that VHBL will support on PS Vita to be Super Collapse 3.

To quote from his blog: Insert here random rant for Sony.

Insert here weird explanation on why people should buy the PSP game Super Collapse 3 on their Vita. Implicitly make it clear that this is the next game being used for VHBL. Don’t forget to thank thecobra for his exploit and the port.

Mention that the game is mostly unavailable for the vita in Europe/Asia, but has been so far spotted in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Finland, Czech, Sweden, and Poland.

Tell people to wait a bit more for the VHBL files.

143w ago - Following up on his PS Vita VHBL Motorstorm Arctic Edge release, this weekend PS Vita and PSP hacker wololo has revealed that Everybody's Tennis (known as Hot Shots Tennis in the US and Minna no Tennis in Japan) contains a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code and has since been removed from PSN by Sony.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links]

To quote from his blog (linked above) as follows: Dear Sony, it has come to my [Register or Login to view links] that one of the PSP games available on the PlayStation Vita has a vulnerability that could lead to the execution of external code by some malicious users. Therefore I am writing this blog post so that you can patch the game or remove it from the PSN store as soon as possible.

Preferably, I suggest you take the money from your clients first, and prevent...
