159w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has shared the new European PlayStation Game Store updates today, as follows:

Hi everyone, it's Store update day and the second title in the PlayStation Network PLAY series is released today - The Baconing - the third instalment in the saga of Deathspank, defender of the downtrodden and thong enthusiast.

You are DeathSpank, a hero and the ultimate Dispenser of Justice. You must defeat the Anti-Spank and his army of Cyborques, before they cast an evil shadow over Spanktopia. Discover exciting new worlds and battle hordes of enemies as you search to unlock the secret within the Fires of Bacon.

Your free gift with this title is an extra character, Roesha, who will be available to download from next week's publish - you can grab it from the PLAY Offer section on the Store, where you'll also be able to pick up your pre-orders.

Also new this week, we have Elevator Action Deluxe from Square Enix, a retro-reboot of the classic spy, document collecting arcade game from days of yore. Well, 1983 was not quite the days of yore but it was a long time ago in videogames! The original arcade game is included in this release so you can see what all the fuss was about.

We also have the PSN version of 4 Elements HD,...

160w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team is here with this weeks European PSN Game Store updates today.

To quote: PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

Yes, the first of the PlayStation Network PLAY titles launches this week in the form of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition. If you haven't already pre-ordered the title you can grab it from today and get the GILL character unlock as part of the package.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, one of the most revered, deep, and sophisticated fighting games of all time, now takes the battle online. Fighting game fans new and old owe it to themselves to experience this mastery of 2D fighting.

Throw down with enhanced HD-filtered graphics, arcade-perfect gameplay, GGPO seamless multiplayer, YouTube replay sharing, new art, and I am assured there is no Capcom Online DRM (for those of you who were worried).

If you have pre-ordered, after the publish today you can visit the PLAY section and download a bundle of the Trial/Unlock/DLC at no cost. You should also be receiving an email in the next day or two as a reminder.

And for those of you in Italy, Capcom (after discussion with us) has taken the decision to hold back the publish of SF III for you guys, which...

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

The star of the update this week is of course a large selection of [Register or Login to view links] related videos for all the hotly anticipated titles being shown - you'll find those in their own section as usual.

For downloadable titles this week, several retail games get the digital download treatment, including Dead Space and Far Cry - but if you're into fast-paced little numbers, you're going to adore Cubixx HD - arcade puzzle action, where the simple goal is to cut away enough of the cube to move to the next level.

This title supports split-screen local multiplayer, has loads of different game modes and looks simply fantastic - if you're a fan of the genre you should definitely give it a go and even if you're not I urge you to try the demo. Plus users get 20% off the asking price too, along with a free theme to download.

There's a also a few more minis this week, including a Fighting Fantasy adventure, a selection of DLC for LBP2, InFamous 2 and more, and a selection of themes.

Speaking of themes there are a few...

164w ago - Today Ross McGrath of SCEE's PlayStation Store Team has revealed this weeks European PSN updates, as follows:

A few new PS3 titles for you this week - leading the charge is the hotly anticipated Section 8: Prejudice, fresh from a tour of duty on the other platform and raring to go on PSN.

And what's more, for this week only you'll be able to purchase Section 8: Prejudice with both of its DLC packs included at no extra cost - grab this deal while you can as it'll be gone before you know it.

Plus members get a little something extra too, as James previously mentioned, not only will Plus consumers get an exclusive in-game unlock but the first 1000 Plus members who are opted in for email who buy the game will get a free copy of the original Section 8!

What else this week? You can take your pick between a relaxing few holes on the minigolf course or defending your neighbourhood from bloodthirsty zombies - I appreciate that's not an easy decision.

Four PSP titles also take the plunge and move to Essentials today, so it's a great time to grab a bargain on one of these Disney games - we've also permanently reduced the price of the DLC for both Hannah Montana and Toy Story 3.

The LA Noire avatars make an appearance this week too, alongside...

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

Two highly anticipated titles drop this week, the much delayed Spelunker HD and the slightly less delayed SEGA Rally Online Arcade, both great titles with very different focuses!

I recommend you give them a try. And another mini graduates to become a full PSN title this week - Alien Zombie Megadeath is now available for just over a fiver. If you like platforms, alien zombies and shooting, there is no better choice.

The Uncharted Multiplayer Beta also makes its way to the main Store for a second week of car-jumping, cargo-plane, pirate-shooting mayhem.

We've a new batch of discounts, courtesy of EA - 30% off a great selection of EA PSN titles (and a piece of high calibre golfing DLC!)

EA Summer Specials - (6th July - 20th July)
