180w ago - With today's PS3 Firmware 3.40 Update came some documented features from Sony as well as some things not so noticable, including limitations on the PlayStation 3 Video Edit and Uploader application and some hidden PS3 system software update features.
According to Examiner.com (linked above), with Sony's PS3 Video Editor & Uploader you can't edit or upload content added to the system prior to the 3.40 Firmware update, you can't use copyrighted videos, and the application (which requires 44MB of PS3 HDD space) places a time limit of ten minutes on each video that is edited.
Moving on to the PS3 Firmware 3.40 hidden features, Jes03 noted HERE the following, to quote:
"One feature not said about is the new photo albums. You can upload/download to Facebook and even view Facebook albums on the PS3."
186w ago - We've seen KillZone 3 PlayStation 3 logos and target dates in recent months, and today pictures from the latest GamePro Magazine have surfaced courtesy of Easyle alongside new KillZone 3 PS3 details- including 3D effects and a game engine with the help of Naughty Dog!
To quote: Included in the article (while I'm reading) on KillZone 3:

• Will be like Inglorious Basterds.
• All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!
• Will include arctic levels.
• One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.
• Game is playable in 3D!
• Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."
• Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."
• Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."
• The scale is supposed to be "bigger...
189w ago - Sony Senior Producer Chris Bruce of London Studio has unveiled some new SingStar PS3 features that are coming this June to the PlayStation 3 entertainment system, as follows:
Thanks to everyone who has taken part in our Beta so far, and those who have signed up for the next Beta events, there has been a great response. We have received loads of valuable feedback from you all and been working hard to get fixes and improvements into the game. Onto the features though...
First up is SingStar Remote, which enables you to connect to SingStar with a PSP during a game session and create a playlist of up to 20 songs.
The playlist can be edited whilst someone else is singing, allowing you to queue up loads of songs to play from a carousel on the PSP and move swiftly form one song to the next, ensuring no break in your SingStar party. Ever.
For truly professional SingStar players we have upgraded our gameplay to give the player feedback when you are singing with extra style using your natural vibrato. We suggest honing your vibrato skill on Gold by Spandau Ballet, Street Spirit by Radiohead or one of the tracks from the Il Divo SongPack. Good luck!
SingStar Clubs are expanding, a single club can now have up to 1000 members, and you will be able to join up to five...
192w ago - Update: Sony has now told NowGamer.com that despite widespread reports they have seen no evidence of damage caused by the PS3 Firmware 3.21 update.
Sony has already upset some users by removing the "Install OtherOS" with its PS3 Firmware 3.21 update, and based on reports from the official PlayStation forums a sizable number of PS3 users have run into issues since updating to PlayStation 3 Firmware version 3.21 as well.
Problems after installing the update range from folks not being able to log into PSN or load a disc after the update to users not being able to turn on their PS3 at all - some have even reported freezing during the update process.
Of course, there's also lots of users that have updated without any issues whatsoever, and the problems don't seem to have yet drawn an official response from Sony.
Let us know how things worked out for you in the comments below.
