107w ago - Wired Productions Product Manager Sean Walsh has shared a video today showcasing the gameplay in Let's Fish Hooked On for the PS Vita handheld console!

Below are the details, to quote: As we edge closer to the release of Lets Fish! Hooked On we're very excited to share the first official trailer with the PlayStation community, exclusively, to show some of the features that we first revealed on this very blog back in September. It's good to be back.

With this video we hope to demonstrate just how well-suited this game's fun, arcade style is to the PS Vita, whilst giving you more of a look at the variety of gameplay experiences you can expect from the first ever full-scale (our one and only pun - honest) anime-styled fishing game.

This is the first time developer, SIMS, (the team behind SEGA Bass Fishing), have developed a fishing game featuring anime-style characters; and it was built with the PS Vita's sleek and powerful capabilities firmly in mind.

Check out the trailer here:

Let's Fish! Hooked On is a quirky, fun and innovative fishing game, and as a PS Vita exclusive, it was designed to take advantage of a platform that was built to make the most of digital content.

To quote: We're launching PS Vita's all-new social brain training game, Smart As, on October 30th in North America.

We've been hard at work loading Smart As with fun and engaging puzzle games to put your mental might to the test with challenges in four key areas: Logic, Arithmetic, Language and Observation.

As we recently announced, Smart As also features the voice talent of Monty Python's John Cleese; so as you train, you'll receive his encouragement and cheeky commentary. Better still, as you play and improve your scores, you'll get to share your stats with Smart As fans from around the world via the online leaderboards, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

Here's a sneak peek at the some of our favorite Logic and Arithmetic challenges.

As you can see in this video, the Logic games are designed to test your ability to solve puzzles as quickly as possible. Inspired by the popular scientific opinion that the brain's frontal lobe is used for executive functions like problem solving, organizing and planning, our goal was to design games that tested...

Video: GamesCom 2012 Trailer for Killzone: Mercenary on PS Vita

122w ago - Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst has shared a new video trailer today at GamesCom 2012 for Killzone: Mercenary on the PS Vita handheld console!

To quote: Today we're really excited to present the first official gameplay trailer for Killzone: Mercenary at Gamescom.

Designed specifically for the PlayStation Vita platform, Killzone: Mercenary is a first-person shooter that makes full use of the device's graphical and input capabilities.

It was built on the same powerful engine as Killzone 3, and it enhances the familiar twin-stick FPS control scheme with touch pad functionality for interesting new gameplay possibilities.

With Killzone: Mercenary, we want to offer PlayStation Vita owners a fresh perspective on the brutal conflict between ISA and Helghast - literally.

For the first time in a Killzone campaign, you'll be fighting alongside Helghast forces as well as ISA specialists, carrying out missions that the regular soldiers just won't - or can't.

As a mercenary, you're free to decide which tactics and loadouts you'll use to fulfill your contract; your employers will reward you with state-of-the-art weaponry and cold, hard cash as long as you get the job done. But what is the price of that freedom - and will you discover it before...
